I saw mine that is right here with me. I did not panic nope I sure did not panic.....
I just went out on the balcony and the there isn't even a ripple on the water.....I guess it's the calm before the storm.
My USAR team went on deployment standby tonight. Last time I got deployed was for Katrina. It sucked. Anyway, I might be heading for your neck of the woods if all hell breaks loose.
The ripple is here, heading your way. Rain and wind will be here in the next 30-45 minutes. It's moving NNE now, so maybe some further north will be spared! I sure hope it puts out the fires here in the Dismal Swamp area. There's been heavy smoke outside now for weeks, air quality in the "pits". One good thing is, Irene will likely put out that fire!
I know that sucked big time. If it weren't for people of your caliber more people would still be in a bad spot. I hope you don't have to send out a crew this time, but it sure is great to know there are people willing to help from everywhere! Thank you!

I just went to go get gas for my generator and no one has gas......Unreal. I just siphoned 5 gallons out of my motorcycles to feed my generator.....Just in case the power goes out.
We went through all that when Ike hit us. Not fun driving around on empty trying to find someplace that has gas. Hope everything is ok for ya Striper. Keep us updated and stay safe.
Oh yea I remember that well. When Ike hit I drove 20 miles to find gas and had to wait 4 hours when I did. It was my first big storm and I was completely unprepared. I will never do that again.
I'm ready....I have gas, food, water, batteries.....All of my PV batts are charged.....I'm even covered in the self defense catagory.
Take care and stay safe! We gassed everything up yesterday. I'm further up on the Maine coast, so I don't think we'll see it quite so badly up here, although everyone is in a tizzy here as well. They are predicting a tropical storm for us with high winds and tons of rain, still no joke. We are also prepared nonetheless. Everything outside has been tied down or brought inside. Flashlights, candles, water, food, batts charged. If we lose power for too long, though, we will lose lots of food in our extra freezer downstairs, no generator here.
