So Lowboy, did you make your punch or buy it somewhere?

I made a proto some days ago just to experiment.
It was perfect. It was major ugly tho........LOL
Then VIP put the screws on sale so I bought one.
So I took a block of aluminum I had and made a nice one using their screw.
Took me about an hour to make if that long. It took a lot longer to polish it...............LOL
For the record I'm not trying to infringe on any company and I only made the proto for fun.
It worked good so I made me a nicer one.
It makes a perfect hole if you screw the wheel all the way down, no guess work.

Well I like it!! What I DONT like about my COV punch is it cant take a xl carto in far enough and I can't get a punch as low as I'd like on it. Does yours take a xl carto? I have to go now, but would love to come back and see your answer. Have class tonight. Take care everyone!!

I'm a tad confused.
Do you put the carto in the COV punch threads first or the open end first?
I set mine up so that I put the threaded end in first I can punch a hole pretty low.
I set it up so that it punches a hole for most tanks out there.
I have a few different tanks.
Altho I only use the Jonboy tanks.
If you can elaborate as what you consider low enough.
I may not answer till tomorrow as I have to be at work at 5 in the morning.
Don't plan on being up real late.

i put the threads in first. just used an old carto to align the holes where they would go and set the screw when i found the right distance
