I would think the Lavagen would be prone to less leaking than a ZAP, since most of the leaking in the ZAP comes from the section above the tank and below the tip. They only place for a Lavagen to leak would be the top wouldn't it?

You are right. It definitely leaks way less than a Zap or even my iHybrid. Just wish it was as leakproof as my lava tank. That thing could be upside down in my pocket all day and would barely gurgle when I pulled it out to vape.

Okay, everyone needs to know that any and all traditional genesis style atomizers are not intended to be in any other position than standing straight up, unless vaping on them. They are not pocket friendly if you do not have them straight up and down. And they should not be laid down. Because of the wick having tiny holes in them and being that it does have an air-hole, on top of having a fill hole that is best left without a screw put in it while being used, There will always be juice leaking when not in the right position. I know that the inverted genesis tank system like the G-tank US, and the Cyclon V2 have the juice portion on top of the wick and coil, and those are pretty nice for not leaking, but some may have the tendency to do so. But the standard genesis style ones do not.

That being said, I have SEVERAL Genesis devices, most being the standard style, and 2 being the inverted. And I really do prefer the standard style over any other design of vaping devices. I do have other designed devices like the GG Ody, and regular carto tanks. But love my Genesis one.

When I first seen the Lavagen, and then had a chance to try one at Vaporcon 2, I was very impressed, and had to have one. I really do love the Lavatank, and then there was going to be a genesis drop in for it, YEAH!!!! I got mine the other day, and have been vaping it non-stop. I do not much like the ploy tank that comes with the drop in, I much rather have the fused quartz tube from Bedazzle, just because I do vape some juices that tend to crack tanks. Not that there is anything wrong with the poly tube, just my opinion.

I will be doing a full video review on the Lavagen this coming week, and hope you all enjoy it! But until then, I hope you all enjoy your Lavagen, and if you are trying to decide if you want to pick one up, DO IT, YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!! But remember that is just my opinion!!

Other than the wick, what else do I need to buy to use with the lavagen? Do I need to buy the little coil shown in the pictures, or does it come with the lavagen? Also, does anyone have a recommendation on a decent torch?
If you are just getting the drop in, you need wick, kanthal or nichrome wire, a lavatank and patience. If you have never used a genesis RBA before, I would suggest looking at Dino's video on how to set it up because it will get frustrating at first.

Heres a video:

Thanks for the information. So does the coil come with the lavagen or do you have to purchase it separately? Also where is a good place to purchase the wire?

Ok so I need wick and wire... What about mesh and coils?

Mesh = wick
Wire = coils

That is the beauty of the genesis style atty's. All you need is wick (for the lavagen either SS mesh or Silica) and wire for the coils. Add some juice and your done. A 12x12 sheet of SS mesh should last you months.

Thanks AJ. I'm also looking at what kind of silica wick I need. I saw on the other place there's something about a modified silica wick. Do you have any advice? I'm not sure what size or what not that I need.

I would go with 3mm silica. I have zero experience with silica. The hybrid wick you are referring to is silica sleeving over ss mesh, and I hear it works great, but I would stick with the basics to get started, and once you get the hang of it, you can branch out and experiment.
