Damn, I just remembered I'm going to Hippiefest on Saturday night! Dave Mason, Mark Farner (Grand Funk), Rick Derringer and Felix Cavaliere's Rascal's. Oh ya, I have to sit through Gary Wright as well! Ah the good old days!
I gotta tell you, I don't think we're gonna see anything Saturday night.....I mean, anything is possible.....but I don't think so. I'm sure Jon will chime in when we're getting close.
Do any of you Lava Tank pros have any suggestions as far as carto cutting goes?? Slots or holes?? How many? Placement of the hole/slot? I have been reading that some cartos are working better with a higher cut slot, other cartos work better with the slot lower. Just wondering on the Lava Tank if there is a spot that works the best? Thanks!!
prefer 2 holes on opposite sides of the carto up a little higher I think it feeds the carto better

My pal, strprswpr did the holes for me They look like about 1/4" above where the carto meets the lip of the bottom part of the tank. Was that muddy enough for ya

I have no idea if this is true or not, but I look forward to finding out - I read in a post somewhere that the opinion was that cartos lasted longer than normal in the tanks because they were constantly staying wet and never had a chance to dry hit.
I know I can't get anywhere near this lifespan out of a normal carto. Usually about 4-7 days max when used the normal way. It has to be something with the cartos being kept so wet that is extending the lifespan.
Saying on TV right now, 5.8 magnitude! Just been updated to a 6.0!
Born and raised in So. Cal here. Been through lots of them. I know how scary they can be. Just go around your house and secure anything that might need it, there might be some aftershocks.

I get weeks from a carto. I usually change em out every week or two anyway. Boges-Boges-Boges
Everybody tries Fusion, DC, Mega, 808, 901, CE2 and all I hear is tweaking it to work...Boges work every time. I have never....ever....ever had a problem with a Boge....Not even found a bad Boge yet. Please trust me....I wouldn't steer you wrong.....Just to confirm, I'm not yelling, I'm very calm trying to express how much I want you to try BOGES
All tanks go out as Carto tanks unless you specify otherwise.
+1 for Boges. I've had others start getting a tight draw on them after only a few HOURS use. I have yet to use a Boge that closes up on me regardless of how long I've used it. A week, 10 days, doesn't matter. I won't buy anything else now.
