I'm here for a few minutes 30 hours no power. Have been told could be as long as 10 days before power is restored. Have crews from SC & TN power helping to get power restored

Just checking in. Anyone hear from Jon? Hope he's feeling better.

Til next checkin time!

I'm in the Bronx and everything seems ok, I heard that Westchester has tons of flooding.....I don't know about Long Island.

Watching the news this morning...they were showing a couple businesses with basements flooded to the ceiling...cleanup is gonna suck

My parents house is on a barrier island off of long island. They are about a hundred feet to the ocean, and 100 ft to the great south bay. Completlly surrounded by water. The house is on 5ft pile ons. I hope they are not covered to the ceiling with salt water. All anyone can do is hope and pray at this point, until they are allowed to go back over, and see for them self how much damage if any.

I got lucky here in coastal Maine. 2/3 of midcoast Maine lost power, but we didn't. We are the last house on our road to have power. Everyone after our house on the road lost electricity early yesterday afternoon. It flickered on and off all day, but we never lost it. We heard lots of trees falling, but none close enough to damage our house. I heard chainsaws going at 7:00 a.m. My hubby is a mailman, so I'm sure he'll have lots of stories when he gets home.

There was some flooding, but not for us. We are on pretty high ground. Also, we were on the eastern side of the storm, so we got more wind, less rain. It seems the rain is heavier and the wind lighter on the west side.

Hellooooooooooooooo all...........finally got cable and wideband!!!! Well, aside from the newly "waterproofed" basement renovations now having 2 inches of water and all the new drywall is soaked and losing half of my roof shingles and no cable or broadband for 2 days, we are all safe and cozy. WHEW..........the dam in the town south of me is ready to break and more evacuations are being done and hubby (as a civil servant..........ahem...)Hasn't been home very much. Have credit card waiting anywho in case any "news" happens!
Before I lose my internet connection again............a quick question...........
Why does my carto flood so badly when I refill? After I blow the carto out I am left with half a tank of gas..........ahem.......joose.......and it makes me mad. I like a full tank in case of evacs!

Thanks in advance
