No problem, just go to Honeysuckle or Butterball.com and they have the roasting charts and other instructions online. Just weigh yourself and then yourself holding the Turkey and that's it! Most of them are around 17 - 20lbs to serve 6.

Don't feel that way LilyBear! Come on over! Sure lots of folks have known each other for longer than the rest of us but they are a great bunch of people and really do welcome everyone, so don't worry!

You have a tank, doesn't matter where you got one....and you don't have to join in the secret santa if you don't want to. Just come and look around, you don't have to sign up in that forum if you don't want to.....it is up to you....

Lily, you're kidding right? Of course you're welcome over there. There are several people who don't yet have a Lava Tank. So what!!!! Lavacorps is not about a piece of hardware, it's about camaraderie. Just a very nice group of people who have bonded together and welcome anyone who would like to join us. Well almost anyone. There is this one person who ........... never mind. ;-)

Got a bathroom scale? You weigh yourself with and without the turkey. The difference is your turkeys weight. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes per pound. Make sure to remove the neck and organ bag from the inner cavity of the turkey. Check both ends just in case. I swear the people that pack turkeys have a warped sense of humor and like to mix it up as to where you're going to find things.

I agree with all the welcoming comments Lily. It is meant for Lava tank enthusiasts of all levels. Sometimes, I don't feel welcome but I keep coming back cuz I love lava tanks!
I'd like to try a turducken sometime.

We will have to start picking on you more to make sure you feel welcome!!!!!

Ok... I don't even want to try and keep up in the vacation spot. I can't keep up with this one. If this ain't chat, I don't know what is! :)

I just wanted to give you all something to giggle about when you're bored.

I was in holiday mode at work today and started from page one of this thread. It is really cool to read how lavacorps was born! I still don't know what "sweepers" name means, but what I do know is that he was the first to catch on that this was a HIT. (I think he got 6-10 before anybody even noticed! That must be why he's the lava king!) And him and ksmith got some, what should we call it? antiques? of Jon's first runs.

First the Capt joined in and knew it was a good thing. I saw bp pop in and then laurel (stating she wasn't sure if she wanted to dish that much out for a tank. (how many do you have now laurel? :D )

I'm not sure which, but I saw one of the Ty's pop in in the early pages. And I only got up to like page 50 something. No way you could get through the 1000's of posts. But, it was a REALLY interesting read to see how this how this piece of art was born and morphed into what it is today.

Thanks strsswpr (I know that sp is wrong), for the constant nudging to get Jon to make them for regular cartos and your help with marketing and videos. (ce2s never worked for me)

As I stated in a previous post, I'm currently using a non-lavatank because I gave the one I had to my wife. And I KNOW I'll get one in the next sale or two.

Just in case anybody is interested in some trivia on this magnificant piece of art we all love. Take some time sometime and scan through how it was born and evolved. It is really good reading.

OH! Nobody ever answered me! Am I still part of the lavacorps if I gave mine to my wife. (The ultimate sacrifice! Cause I'll never get it back.) Hey! I should be added back to the tankless list since I'm tankless! JK! Because I know I'll get one next sale. (I said that last time... :-( )

I love this group of folks. It turned me on to tanks! And, even with a sub-par non lava tank I'm doing fine. But, can't wait to get the real thing in my hands again!

Sorry for rambling... but that's what I do sometimes.

Hope all are doing well and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with those they love.

(really though! read back on some of the older posts! It's really cool!)
