JJ - Looking back at the tank pics, kind of makes me wonder if you didn't see the black and gold stone, like Ever got... Since you mentioned "gold threads" or something along those lines in your reviews. The black and gold acrylester looks much more black, whereas with the stone the gold really pops... Looks like gold veins.

Either way, I got what I PM'd Jon...it was my first choice...I thought the gold would "pop" or "sparkle" more...the "Golden Black Pawn" is what I got...

I wasn't very impressed with how the Sugi turned out. If I remember right yours just had a few tiny flecks of black in it. I hand picked that one out too. If you don't like it, you can always try to trade it over on the vacation spot. I never know what these will look like until I put the final polish on them.

Yeah, my Sugi/Black Ming is all Sugi (purple). While I'm a big purple fan, I liked the black veins and I didn't get any black at all.

Don't get me wrong...I am going to try to buy one every sale...Jon does some great work...and really dig the tanks you all got as well...I am just saying from my perspective, I was expecting something different than what I got.

The golden black has a more hidden gold tint to it, where the black with gold matrix stone actually has metal running through it. Probably iron pyrite or "fool's gold.
