i tried to put it back in to make the hole bigger and i now have 1/2 of a 3rd hole:laugh:

Tybin, I experienced the same problems. I understand what they are saying, but I can't seem to hammer down as far as the punch supposedly goes. Then I struggle to pull the punch back out of the jig.

This certain Punch & Jig does make small holes, but they will work just fine...(even with your VG juice Tyb). When I had mine, I'd just give it a couple of good, hard wacks and it would be good to go, even tho the holes looked so small.

Hmm... I just got one of the jig punch things and it is sitting on my desk taunting me now... It's intimidating lolol.. I'll have to jump in and give it a go soon but I wish it came with instructions ROFL! I'm going to watch some videos to be sure I have good idea how it works. Wish I had saved an old carto to practice on.

Hey all!
I keep meaning to get some pics up of my tank (and/or my new GG) just haven't found the time.

I did want to ask.....
I'm tempted to attempt to use my tank with a 306 atty, but it's slightly smaller than a carto.
I know there's suggestions to replace the lower inner o-ring to fit the 306, but that was for older tanks.
If I get a slightly smaller o-ring for my Sugi tank, will it comprise the tank bottom?
I know I also read tighter o-rings were no longer an option when purchasing as the material had been fine tuned, but will it cause a problem?

I like the 306 atty, for taste and vapor and much prefer them over cartos, but I don't want to break my tank either.

Any one know?

You're using the big hole to punch thru right? The little holes are what you put the metal wire in to adjust the length for reg carto's and xl's.....was confusing to me at first also:)

if u don't have an old carto, just take a felt pen and mark your carto where you want to punch it. then using the window, just line it up with sharp end of the puncher and adjust as needed. easy peezy. :)

What's the problem? The jig isn't working properly? A small hole is fine. I'm a little lost. I can't stress this enough....I know it's expensive.....but invest in a good punch. If you use a crappy punch and deform the carto you risk breaking the bottom cap. DD NOT force the carto in the bottom cap. It should slide in smoothly. As far as the hole size....small holes are fine, even with the VG...the key is to make sure the carto is full.....soaked with juice.

Th $40 jig is nice but for those that dont want to spend the $40 plus shipping for a jig you can also buy a simple set screw = http://www.radax.com/client_images/catalog19756/pages/files/ConePointlarge.jpg at your local hardware store you can find them with big allen wrench heads on them and even some with a handle or knurled end too. Then use a scrap piece of a 2x4 and pre-drill your two holes, one at 9mm for the carto to go through one end and one for your set screw through the top so it comes though your carto hole, pre-drill this one 1/8 or so smaller then your set screw so it threads more easily when you thread it through the first time. You can find these set screws at true value hardware stores and Home Depot. You can end up with a really nice jig for about $3-$4, it works great and is the same as the $40-$45 jig but in wood instead of metal. just a thought and trying to help ya save some $$
