Hmm.. I feel like reading today, you know, an actual book with pages  I would love to get an e-reader, but I do love the feel of a book in my hands. And e-readers don't have that comforting book smell. I love going into a used book store and thumbing through books (until I come across one from the home of a smoker  and then I wonder if everything in my house smelled that way  ). I used to work in a library, so yeah, I get nerdy with books sometimes

I just read a James Patterson book yesterday. I love doing nothing all day and just reading. I've been thinking about an e reader to have also. But i, too, love real books. What's a good e-reader? how about the nook? pros-cons?

I just got the cheapo 79 dollar kindle, and it's the best gift anyone's ever given me. I haven't used any of the newer nooks, but I think amazon has better sales and better support for their stuff. It's really all personal preference, but of you're wanting something to read on, don't get the nook tab or kindle fire, they're not eink and it hurts my head insanely to read after a while.

Hey lion. I can agree with both you and Vega. If you just want a reader e-ink is the way to go! Outside, beach, long spans reading, it's the best. And the e-ink tablets are generally less expensive than a color screen.
........ya can't watch a movie, browse the internet, or run most apps on e-ink. All depends what ya want out of a tablet.

I've had an iPad for a bit over a year now, so the tablet thing wasn't new to me, but trying to do any kind of long reading stretch in bed or on public transit would give me eye strain and headaches out the wazoo. I'm such a bookworm I couldn't resist anyway, so getting the kindle as a gift was about the greatest thing ever. If you need an all purpose gadget, nothing wrong with a fire or nook tab, but for just reading for hours, I can't argue with 80 bucks for the kindle.
