Talking about phones...I have 2. One is tethered to my house, the other is a cell phone. I use them to make phone calls. I have computers and Nooks that I can go online with. I can't use my phone to go online.

I hooked up my laptop during the last sale and used it to refresh with while I had my pm ready to go on the desktop. It was faster than my previous attempts, but it still took a while to refresh. I seriously think I just lucked out last sale. Who knows if I will ever be so lucky again? Just in case the last sale was an indication of a lucky streak on my part, I actually bought a PowerBall ticket for the first time in my life, lol. If I win that I will have to buy tickets to Chicago and maybe I'll be lucky enough to find Jon's table before he sells out!

Too bad Chicago is so far away. The KS/OK LavaCorps could have carpooled and all gone together.!

Cat, if you see this, I just got a Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V (they have them with and without the sliding keyboard). The phone with the keyboard is about $129.00 or $99.00 w/o, but you can get 1200 minutes and unlimited text and data for only $45.00 a month...which is ALOT cheaper then any of the plan phones. I pay $69.00 a month for my son's and he only gets 400 minutes, unlimited text & a little data pkg. (he has Verizon). So as soon as his plan is up, he's going to Virgin Mobile too!! No contract with the Virgin Mobile is also a plus in my opinion.

i do. the trick is to go to the verizon website. take a look at the certified pre-owned too. there are only a couple brands that have the slide out. the droid3 and the samsung stratosphere. you can get one there with a contract for next to nothing. it's always a better deal to order off the website.

Even better is to try amazon.wireless.com.

It was Morgan who got the phone that didn't want to work, but they sent another one right away before we even had to send the first one back. Got her a brand new EVO shift for $20. They're having a sale on the EVO 3D for $0.01 with a new contract.

Afternoon Lavacorps. Sad to see I missed out on a surprise sale last night, but congrats to those who took advantage. I did notice the extra tanks in the new materials pics, but I figured they were spoken for, or would be included in the next sale. How Jon had leftovers from the last sale is beyond me, but the surprise sale just adds to the fun around here!

@Cat, if you get a new phone before the next sale, PM me and I will give you some pointers on what I believe is the secret to increasing your chances on sale night.

Holy crap do i agree with that.. I have a galaxy S.. when i got it, it was cool.. now i get so ...... off at it.. My ol' lady has the iphone and never had a problem with it.. when my contract is up i think i may go down that road this time..

I tried cooking my first real French dish after deciding to take a step away from Thai cooking for awhile. I now know why French food is so good. If you put loads of butter and heavy cream in most of what you cook, it's going to taste good. I bought a quiche/tart baking pan and a baking stone. I made Quiche Saumon Epinards, Quiche with Salmon and Spinach. Turned out very good, but I'm not going to try any more French food, I've got to watch what's left of my figure. I'm thinking Mexican food, I've used a lot of the dry chili peppers you can get in the Latin aisle at the supermarket for making curry paste, I'd like to learn how to use them to make Mexican food. Now I need a tortilla press...
