It feels textured but not grainy like I imagined it would. It just feels grippy like a textured black mod. Honestly, I'm really digging the feel of it. I had a Black Chrome ProVari before that I sold for my DW trip and it always felt almost slippery and I was afraid of taking it into public and dropping it (one of the reasons my RSM is a home bound mod).
