Yep. I can't find a Simon Castor reporter or journalist by googling. I didn't try too hard, but nothing came up.

At any rate, I don't mind typing out my views here. Maybe he's trolling. Maybe he's for real.

I find it strange to hit and run in a post, if he had questions in the first place why not say what interest he is representing and then actually ask them. I dont have anything to prove. If he wants info, then he does.

And he said this, which really makes me wonder:

But I believe it's most important to establish a bond and to truly connect with individuals who have voices and opinions, just like everyone else. So please don't take it that I'm being rude--I do swear that I'm trying not to.

And then gives no real info about himself but professes his love of Pokemon and Cheese Danish.

This of course makes me want to bond.

He just posted at 11 pm last night. This forum moves incredibly quickly compared to some others I've been on. Maybe he wasn't aware of how many responses he'd get? I dunno. Hopefully he'll come back and tell us what he's looking for and give some more background.

True, true. But wouldnt even half an hour of observing this place let someone figure that out? I lurked here for a very VERY long time.

Personally his post just creeped me out a bit. Im from California too...so what? There are millions of folks living outside of California that can claim to be from Cali lol.

His post sure said a whole lot of nuffin' imo.

I'd love to hear a bit about your profession actually. I'm looking for a career to go after and I've always been open and interested in journalism. Though in recent years I've heard its a dead profession. Lets talk bud.

Your right real journalism is dead it's mostly been replaced by corporate paid opinion givers who throw a little bit of news in there just so they can call it news. But even then it's with a definite corporate slant.

Let us hope that Castorsimon is not one of these morally bankrupt individuals and instead will give us a TRUE story on the benefits of vaping.

What paper do you write for? Where did you go to school? How long have you been a journalist? Links to articles? Press Association member? I'm an editor of a paper and it seems to me others in my profession have forgot the basics they were taught in school. I'd like to know if you're honest and accurate or a sensationalist. Also be good to know if you're in good standing with your press association.

Ditto, not a good start.

Here in Arkansas, ya'll IS correct grammar.

Was just surprised that a californian would be talkin' like that. ;)

Hmmm, I'm in California and use "y'all" all the time. Then again I'm from Florida (which is technically a southern province of Canada), so I have plenty of identity issues.

An open journalist is always welcome. Better than sneaking around and pretending to be someone else.

A bit more about me:

-Hemingway obsessed. Also reading House of Leaves currently.

-Survival horror enthusiast. Probably the #1 Silent Hill fan you'll meet.

Anyways, thank you for reading and I look forward to spending time here!

House of Leaves was one of the most difficult, yet rewarding, books I've ever read. I hope you enjoy it :)

Welcome to ECF. You'll find there are a lot of great people here, and vaping has saved many of our lives.

There aint nuthin wrong with y'all or ya'll or yall......depending on what area of the country ya hail from.

(By the way Mr Journalist, this is a very passionate group that quickly dismisses anything negative about vaping.... After 32 years of smoking I finally gave up the stinkies.....2 weeks after I got off the analogs my lungs cleared and I coughed up Micheal Jacksons other glove. Unfortunately I lost the pictures to a hard drive crash )

i thought it was you-owl.

Hello! My name is Simon, I'm a journalist in California researching vaping info for an assignment I'm on. I figured that, to get a good feel for my writing, I would peruse forums and (hopefully) befriend a few voices here who can help me with my work.

Don't get me wrong yet: I try my best not to be that typical annoying, unfriendly, and {MODERATED} reporter who demands info and nothing else. But I believe it's most important to establish a bond and to truly connect with individuals who have voices and opinions, just like everyone else. So please don't take it that I'm being rude--I do swear that I'm trying not to. But, to end it, I recognize that it might be intrusive for me to join your community when (and I do admit) I'm not a vapor enthusiast.

I hope I can still be accepted by y'all. From lurking I can tell that users here are warm and thoughtful. Hopefully we can be friends and I can get a feel for what I'm writing about in the first place :)

"Don't get me wrong" but seems it's a copy/ paste from another Forum 3 weeks ago and you really haven't been all that active in that forum since posting the above. I'm friends with a number of Journalists and they've always been transparent and completely upfront when dealing with sources/ people/ research unless special circumstances warrant secrecy. Journalism is give and take...hopefully you'll be able to give a little and be as open as other researchers visiting this Forum have been.

Y'all

No matter how long you've lived in Memphis, you are most likely familiar with this basic southern word, but do you know how to use it correctly?

While "y'all" is actually a contraction for "you all," it is most commonly used in place of the plural form of "you." "All y'all" or "all of y'all," on the other hand, is generally used in place of "you all."

For example... •When speaking to two or three people: "Are y'all going to the movies?"
•When speaking to several people: "Are all y'all going to the movies?"
Things are further complicated when using the possessive form of the word.

For example... •Is this y'all's car?"
or
•"Is this all y'all's favorite color?"
Note, though, that there is some debate on the spelling of the possessive form of y'all. Some will spell it "y'all's" while others will spell it "y'alls." As there does not seem to be an official answer, it is a matter of personal preference.
No matter how long you live here, you can be certain that you will leave with "y'all" firmly embedded in your vocabulary. And everywhere you go, it will be a dead giveaway that you once made your home in the South.
