Joye 302 atty with 801 USB passthrough

Hey, I just got some Joye 302 attys, (they're sposed to be low bridge, I guess I won't know until I see a difference in one) and I just got a USB passthrough with a Mains apapter. THe adapter says the output is 5v. These Joye 302 attys aren't HV attys. I was under the impression you needed special HV version attys to run them at higher voltages. Am I correct? I've also used my 801 atty with it. The Joye 302s weren't working good, but it looks like I have to break em in, cus they're starting to warm up.

A 302 should work fine on a 5v 801 passthrough. It's just going to produce more wattage than a HV atty since a HV atty just runs at a higher resistance which would produce less wattage and therefore heat which would really negate the benefits of a 5v device.
