Joye 510 Cartomizers

Although Im happy with my attys and carts and topping off at home, is it worth while to get a few cartomizers for 'on the go'? Ive never tried them yet, but was wondering if they would be more beneficial while away from home and not having to worry about taking extra juice and stuff along. Im currently using a Joye 510 and am pretty happy with it.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Yes carto's are definitely worth trying. Some people like them, and others don't though so order one box just to try. That should last a while anyway. I use carto's when I'm out and don't want to mess with dripping or topping off carts. When I use them I take a bottle of juice in case I need it or an extra filled carto with me. That will keep me going for at least few hours with an eGo battery. When I use the 510 battery, I'll just take two complete units.

Just a reminder: there are at least three manufacturers of 510 cartomizers. There are genuine Joye (available at Cignot, and I know not where else); SLB - silver threads - and Boge - brass threads. They are each quite different, I suspect. I've only tried the Boge and SLB, and though most people seem to like the Boge, I found the SLB more to my taste. I've not tried the genuine Joye yet. Litecigusa carries both the SLB and the Boge. Most other suppliers seem to carry only one brand or the other. I do believe I've read of lr 510 cartomizers too, but I'm not sure who carries them or who makes them, and have not tried them myself.

There are a lot of options these days :)

a. SLB, Boge, Joye Cartomizers w/ soft tip or hard tip
b. Mega cartomizers
c. Genuine Joyetech 510 Cartomizers (available at cignot)
d. Edition 2 Cartomizers (clouds of vapor, awesome vapor, vapor junction)
e. LR 510 Cartomizers (clouds of vapor)

Speaking generally, I much prefer the convenience and consistency of cartos. Especially while driving. If I really didn't want to have to fuss with refilling, I could just carry 4 or 5 cartos I filled in the morning.

Hey thank guys, excellent info! Thanks also to cozzicon for his videos and reviews, that was very helpful! As someone commented, at times there seems to be to many options, but being fairly new, It was worse before I got my 510. Now that Ive read things here, I have a better understanding of the confusion I had when first started. I think Im going to try a pack of the cartomizers on my next order. I think Cignot has a pack of 5 if I remember right. Just wanted to add that I picked up a PT from Electonicstix.com, excellent purchase! Jason's a great guy to work with. Again, thanks for the advice, I will try these on my next order of juice.

Wow. Do all cartomizers for the joye 510 have to be filled in the manner described in the vid? If so, I think i'll keep my carts and just keep using drops. The syringe method looks so time consuming. HOw long does that filled cartomizer last? Anyone?

I like the taste of the joye 510 and the drip method into the cartridges, however, they are a lot of maintenance too as they dont last long on charge and they dont hold a lot of ejuice in the filler. That is why i thought i'd try the cartomizer. But unless that cartomizer lasts a good deal longer I'm not sure it is much easier, if at all.

I am still trying to figure out what works best for me, so pardon all my questions.

Well- I have one Joye Cartomizer up to 11 refills. 1 DOA out of 15 (replaced by Cignot), two died in service (less than 6 refills). 12 currently still vaping.

It is true they are not fun to fill (you must use a syringe- unless you look at lightgeoducks method for modding them in the mod section). However, the reason I go through the hassle is that once they are filled, they are easy to use, have about .9 ml capacity, are very consistent until dry, and they vape like a 510 atomizer (which is my preference).

KR808 style cartomizers are easier to fill. But taste badly to me. They perform nicely in other respects. And many people like them.

I still use cartridges at home. But these new cartomizers are what I use whenever I'm not home.

That's how it works for me.

I've used both the Boge and the SLB's with the white cap and all I do is pry off the cap and drip into it until it looks saturated. Then I blow it out onto a paper towel to see if it's overfull. Really easy to do. You can fill it from the other end by dripping through the hole in the battery terminal. It's just harder to know when it's full since you can't see inside this way. That's how I filled my eGo Mega carto's too. I haven't seen a need to buy a syringe using these methods.

So to sum it up if I was going to try cartos and I have an ego should I just get the mega's or is there a reason to get something different

I would give the mega, regular and the CE2's all a try. The all three have upsides and downsides. My choice of use right now is the CE2-XL rev3. But i have, and use all the others satisfactorily.

I saw a vid here when i first joined of a guy filling his carto without a syringe. He took the rubber cap off the end, filled that wtih ejuice, and dipped the carto in slowly until it absorbed all the liquid. Was he using a specific type of carto? And if so, can I use that kind on my Joye 510? That looked a lot easier to me, then the syringe method.
