I'm new to ECF. I just want to say that I refill my authentic Joye 510 cartomizers (from Cignot) with the condom method, and it's quite easy. I don't know why so many say it can't be done. They must be talking about a different brand.

I push the threaded end into the half-filled rubber cap slowly until it's all absorbed. If I go too fast, it leaks out the sides, because these caps aren't as snug as others I've used. I'm going to apply a layer of tape around that end next time, to add some girth.

If the half filled condom goes in easily, I add a little more and do it again until I see a drop appear at the mouthpiece end, then put the caps back on both ends and let them sit overnight to soak up. A little excess will leak out if I overfill them that much, but I just wipe them dry with a tissue. I'll get better at measuring how much will fit, I'm sure, but my refills are lasting as long as the original cartomizer did, and I like the flavor of my refill juice better than the original, but there's nothing wrong with the original flavor of the Joye 510 filled cartomizers, IMO.

If you overfill, you'll hear gurgling with the first few drags, and may even get some juice in your mouth, but I try to draw those first few drags with the battery end pointing down, and draw easy, not like drinking a milkshake through a straw! You can also give the carto a little thermometer shake with the mouthpiece away from yourself, onto a paper towel, and any excess will get shaken out onto the towel. But that's a waste of juice. I'm going to try shaking with the threads down next time and maybe it will stay inside and get soaked up better.

Please help dispel this myth that Joye 510 cartomizers can't be refilled with the condom method. I almost went and bought a syringe, based on all the posts saying I needed one. Nope!

To all the veteran vapers here, thanks for your service!

I'll try it again. I wasn't successful with this method.

I really find it disgusting that people are using condoms to refill their 510 cartos. I don't care about the excuses, it is just weird and gross. Oh and BTW, syringes make you look like a druggie.

Drip in 10-15 drops and you will be fine!! Vape away!! I have two cartos in rotation through the day and never need to top off either one with more than three drops.

If you can show me a way to drip 15 drops into a genuine Joytech Carto- I'll buy you lunch.

Just in case you are not joking... people don't use actual condoms.. they use the rubber caps that go over the cartomizer to fill.. and they call that condoms .. if you are joking that is funny :D

NOW THE MYTH ABOUT CONDOM FILLING A GENJOYE CARTO:

Yes you "technically" can fill using that method ,BUT it doesn't seem to be the ideal way for reasons stated below

The condom method worked on traditional cartos because the path for the juice is going through a short metal tube inside the carto and out over into the filler end allowing the juice to soak back down through the filler to the element. GenJoyes are not created like that

it might be easy to see in one of my videos in the Modders section .. there is a "cap" inbetween the connector and the element with ONE airway hole in the outer diameter of the tube(and a big gap between the two)... so you won't get direct access to the filler... even after you get the juice to make it through you would most likely have to have the carto sitting mouth end down.. to alot for enough time for the juice to soak... since the carto is designed where the element is below the filler and not incased in the filler like traditionals..

if you are doing and gettting juice out the mouthpiece end.. it isn't necessarily an indication of overfill since there is only one path to the mout piece and it is a "thru way.. meaning if juice got to that point (even one drop) it will excape out.... ( look at a 510/901 cart to get a basic idea where we inhale and where the filler sits)

SO you are right it "CAN" be done, but I feel it wouldn't be a recommended method due to the HIGH possibility of wasting juice.

I would say the Myth is partially busted, but I wouldn't recommend that method in the same manner as "traditional" cartomizers..

Ego mega cartomizers can not use this method for more than one obvious reason...

Hope this helped

You got these from Cignot?

Regarding the juice.. I'm sure you will be fine. If you aren't... you won't get this message and it won't matter...

:D

No, i didn't get them from cignot. Got them from e cig best save. I am going to order these today. I am going to get a pack of prefilled just to have some for travel or those times i have zero time to fill. What is your review on these? is this the same carto from cignot you use?

Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.

Yup- those are what I've been using.

Here's my review, and the followup. To be fair, I have had two people who tried them say they got a plastic taste from one or more of them. Hasn't happened to me.

thanks for posting this.

Have you tried the pre-filled cignot joye 510 cartos and if so, are they any good? I got a pack of prefilled for travel just in case I still have difficulty filling the empty ones. Sometimes I am just too much on the go to have the time to get the gear all organized and ready so if the prefilled ones are decent that will be a huge help to me during those very busy times when I have to literally grab and go.

This question is for anyone who might have feedback on the prefilled cignot cartos. I got the prefilled with 18 mg marlboro e-juice.

This forum has been so invaluable to me. I bet a lot of people who do not have this resource try the e-cig and stop out of lack of knowledge and not knowing what to buy. I know I likely would not have continued this w/out the knowledge sharing that has been going on here! thanks~!

I always buy the pre-filled Joye 510 in the 18mg menthol from Cignot.com. I like the taste, but I like my refill liquid better, which is also from Cignot. It's all PG, which is fine. Once it's empty, refill with a similar tasting juice, either PG or VG.

Far be it from me to challenge one of the local gurus! I'm just sayin'... I refill the genuine Joye 510 cartomizers with the condom method, pushing the atomizer end with the threads into the rubber cap. It only takes like 30 seconds, with no disassembly or special fancy tools like paperclips! ;)

I found your first vid (apparently your first, from what I saw) where you pulled off the atomizer end and revealed the wicking, and then the filler material. Following this deconstruction you also showed from the other end, it would seem that the next item past this filler is the plastic you punctured for the syringe to pass through from the mouthpiece end.

So in summary, it looks like you are removing two plastic pieces from the mouthpiece end, then puncturing a membrane to insert a syringe through into the filler material. Approaching it from the other end, we see the atomizer, wicking, then filler. If we continued from that direction, the membrane would be next. So if the liquid is forced in from the atomizer end, it passes through the wicking and gets soaked into the filler... or so it appears from your video. I haven't taken one apart yet, so I defer to your superior experience.

Obviously, filling these cartos with the condom method can be done pretty easily, and people are avoiding purchasing them because of the folk wisdom that they require syringe filling and can't be condomed. I think that's a bad rap for these cartos.

That's the method I use, despite it being impossible! :D

Thanks for your input!

And thanks for your subtle sarcasim :D
I didn't say it was impossible it just isn't ideal... now granted the needle is an understandable deterant :D but you could use other products..
I also meant to say that it might not be easy to see in my video .now I guess when I have time I can take some pics this weekend.. if you don't find the time to disect one yourself... but between the opening on the connecter end and the element/wick is a gap and a plastic wall (I believe thats the memberane you are refering to? ) so if you stick something through there it will stop.. so no "direct" way to the filler (traditionals you could go straight from the connector end and out the mouth end with no problems)
so for air passage they have an little opening in the membrane at the outer circumfrence of the "membrane" so for juice to flow it will fill the gap (membrane to connector) and then go to the filler area... and possibly out the inhale path that is molded to one side of the tube.
you are pushing the juice up and into the filler.. where the traditional you are forcing the juice up and it flows down to the filler.
another point to make the condom filler method is best used on Kr8 type cartomizers (female connection) and "harder" on the traditional 510 cartos
Anyway I am sure it works (I have tried it).. just not the same as with traditional. and definately not as effective.

If that is your method of choice.. by all means continue to use it (obviously) and if you do think it is ideal.. feel free to share that with others.. if it catches on GREAT.. others might come to the same conclusion as you on it being a great method.
I will not discourage it or shy people away from any method that works for them (unless its dangerous).. I only offer up things for people to take into concideration..

I am going to revisit this.. since you might be onto something.. I will give it another boyscout go at the condom fill... maybe try it on a cartomizer that I didn't already puncher a hole in for the needle... I will follow your steps and take extra special care... even if a video is already made I will make another one using this method and give you the credit for the persuation ... and who knows I might be a convert :D

I still feel as unattractive as using a syringe maybe it IS the ideal way of filling these IMO of course.

Thanks for your input and I hope this shows that I am not a bullheaded guru :D one thing for sure these are some nice cartos :D

all the above sold as a set here for $23 Unflavored e-Liquid 54mg (60ml) mixing kit - $22.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

*my choice of flavor $8 Decadent Vapours 10ml Flavour Concentrates

It took me 6 months to get up the courage to mix my own juice, but I wish I'd done it from the start. It's as easy as mixing a gin and tonic with lime and it's going to save me a TON of money.

Thanks again to Rosa. I received my kit yesterday, and my order for flavorings from StrictlyEjuice, along with a 5 pack of their standard 510 cartomizers. I mixed up some English Toffee tonight and waited about half an hour. Filled a cartridge, and its just about as good at the ECOPure ET. Im extremely happy about this. I used one of the online calculators and it worked wonderful. I only made 5ml of it, but just wanted to 'test the waters' :D

StrictlyEjuice's website didnt say, but does anyone know what brand the standard 510 atomizers are? I thought I saw somewhere, maybe on this site, someone had explained the difference between the Joye, Boge and another kind. I tested all 5 and they are good. I sure hope they last a while, but Im impressed with them so far.

Was a good Vape Day all around. Thanks again everyone!!

Namaste, master. I am a mere grasshopper at your lotus feet.

Well, I hope it works out well. I confess it's a tad messy, but not really much more than when you first remove the condoms... er caps... when the cartos are new. You just need to keep a tissue handy to wipe up.

On the plus side, you don't need to worry about getting stabbed with a sharp syringe! Or a blunt syringe, for that matter. I'd rather wipe excess juice from a carto than inject it into my hand!

I'll be watching for the premiere of your next movie so I can see my name flash on the screen for a nanosecond at the end.

Actually, I plan to acquire a suitable syringe soon so I can try your method. Fair is fair. But I'm not sure where to get one of a suitable size. I'd prefer a squeeze bottle with a totally blunt metal tube, but that's way harder to find. I'm open to suggestions.
