Hey All!

Well I said there would never be another joyetech product for me after that PoS VTC Mini I had...

And here I am with a shiny new Cuboid flashed to FW 3.11, hopefully this performs much better in TC than the VTC Mini did.

Well I hope you figure out the TC better than I am! I am trying to get the flavor from a Ccell Ni200 .2 ohm coil!
I have the Ccell Kanthal .9 ohm coil in wattage mode, and they are awesome, but I have been struggling with the TC and nickel. :-x
If anybody has any suggestions I would appreciate it! I have the cuboid and the Triton 2, 80vg/20PG juice.
And using the Ccells, the stock aspire Clapton .5 ohm coils are great. but trying to get these nickels and TC going!

Joytech chips suck at temp control. Iv never got my vtc mini to run titanium right so I haven't even tried on my cuboid yet. I gotta try stainless one of these days.

At first attempt I got the clouds, but no flavor! it was dull/muted and nasty! No it wasn't the ceramic taste, just no taste! Now this time I got flavor, but not as nice as the kanthal Ccells or the stock Claptons??? Still trying though! I need to buy a RTA or a RDA and try different wires, I just started, been off the smokes since Christmas, So I am new at this, started off with a Istick tc40 and aspire Nautilus, it wasn't working for me (the quitting), so then I got the Cuboid and a Triton 2! That has helped me off the smokes, but got a pack of those NI200 Ccells and trying to get them dialed!

You are probably not vaping at same wattage or frequency.

Yes ^^^, also the age of the batteries in use. My Samsung 25r's (Blue) have about 15 cycles on them, they were better after about the 2nd cycle than they are now (lasted longer I think, but not by much), The 25r Green version are supposed to have better longevity than the Blue ones did. I think I will get those LG HG-2 or the 25r Green the next time I order batteries.

You do know that both the VTC mini & Cuboid have an adjustable TCR menu where you can dial in you're TCR value to whatever you deem appropriate.

Found another...

eBay

Here there be Whales

Thank You for this Good find eLCruz;

This is the Cuboid skin I got off of ebay, (2) Black ones. On the back it is stamped into the Silicone "Joyetech" on the top, and "Cuboid 150W" on the bottom of the back. Very nicely done and feels very nice to the touch, not tacky, slippery, or a lint attracter. Has a cutout on the bottom so you can change batteries without taking the skin off, and the top is completely open and slides on from the bottom to the top a lot easier than my skins for my Sigelei's did when they were new. My Black was $5.99 ea. No problems with the seller or shipping (I payed thru PayPal), I ordered on Mar 13th with an estimated delivery date of the 23rd, I received it today the 18th, so 5 days from order to delivery here in Minnesota.

I don't know anyone that's had any luck with the nickel cCell. I use the .9 kanthal and love it. They are supposed to be coming out with a .5 SS coil soon I'm holding out for that one I have had excellent luck with SS on my cuboid and istick 100w TC. So much so that I have converted to SS I'm all my atty's. TC or power mode I'm enjoying the best flavor I've ever experienced.

Well the Ti build I tried tonight on my FeV VS (8 wraps of 26g on 2.5mm spaced for 0.47 ohms) was giving me the old VTC Mini instant Temperature Protection and power level dropping to 1.5W for a weak vape. I pulled the top off and the wick was still soaked so Ti will need more experimentation but I don't have high hopes for it.

I didn't try Ni200 yet, that will be tomorrow. I don't like to vape Ni as the stuff is just too soft to work with and Tempered Ni200 is better, but too expensive.

I did get a SS316 build working in the SQuape Rs, seems to vape nicely, hits TP almost immediately but power doesn't drop to the anemic levels that Ti does. I did try a burn test with the Rayon wick and it scorched even at 380F.

Should have known better with Joyetech... I was leaning towards the WeeLeaf TC 100W instead but I got a good deal on the Cuboid and a pair of VTC4's from a local B&M so if anything I'll keep it as a 150W box for power mode.

More testing and playing needs to be done over the next while to see.

Try a tcr of 88 for 316 or 316L, as suggested by steam-engine. Works much better than the cuboids default setting for ss316.

Hmmm. I'm on 3.10, didn't like the concept of those memories in 3.11. Wish joytwch would list out everything they alter in these releases, have a feeling it's way more than their marketing hype they do mention.

Does not matter what type product it is, trying to get a list of changes for a firmware release/update is like pulling teeth. I'll switch back to 3.10 and check things out there too.

? ?
Use it, works great.

The fact that you have to go in and set an incorrect TCR to get it to work properly proves that it doesn't work great or at all really. Each wire type's TCR is a constant the fact the inputting the correct TCR results in the function not working right means the chip doesn't work properly.

..or that you've been sold the wrong wire..
So much variation in quality, and so many vendors selling whatever they have under the trendy name of the moment..

I'm a newb and trying to understand this, But isn't that what TC is supposed to do? Fires up to your set temp and then hits Temp Protection and lowers your wattage to maintain that temp so the cotton does not burn?
Now I am wondering if you had the Ohm's locked in correctly (room temperature) prior to doing the Rayon wick burn? I read people trying to get higher temps by putting on a heated coil and then setting/locking the ohms.

Please NO offense here, I am trying to learn from you, before I go and try this! I bought the nickel Ccell coils and my first attempt at TC was horrible! 3 tank fulls of nasty and bland tasting vape! This last attempt in TC with the same coil was better, but still not great! So I am still trying to figure it out!

Also I noticed I have to hit the vape harder and longer to get the same result as in power mode, is this normal for TC?
I am just trying to learn before I go out and get both a RTA and a RDA! Thank you for any input!
