Right behind you...
How much did your juice consumption increase?

At least double, when chain vaping with the morning coffee, or surfing/telly/reading in the evenings, some days could be closer to triple or quadruple. I also had a large collection of 12mg juices I had to modify, either by purchasing 0mg versions or adding a lot of VG (or both). Didn't always work out, especially with higher PG juices.

Now I just buy 3mg or 6mg high VG juices. The 3mg is for my chain vaping, the 6mg is for when not at home when I generally need a stronger, but much less frequent nic hit like a smoke break, or during short quiet moments when video gaming.

Both the Atlantis and the Subtank can handle "max VG" juices pretty well, as far as wicking (and it looks like the Delta II and Melo should have the same ability), so that's what I go for, as I never liked PG much to start with (and I'm not a throat hit chaser) but found it a necessity if I wanted any semblance of flavor and wicking ability out of older, lesser tanks.

But, but... I don't want to lung inhale... I never did, not even when I smoked...

I feel ya. I smoked cigarettes from 1978 to 2009, and I always smoked mouth to lung. Didn't understand the lung inhale thing at all. Like smoking a joint. That's not how we smoked cigarettes.

I'm trying to understand. But I can't even begin to imagine myself doing lung inhales... Flavor is experienced in one's mouth, not lungs.

I feel ya again. I only tried a direct lung inhale because I bought a tank that was good at it. The flavor blew me away, so crisp and juicy.

Can one do mouth to lung with those tanks? Decrease the airflow? Lower the wattage???

I can't speak for the other tanks, but the Kanger Subtank Mini has 4 airflow adjustments; wide open, pretty darn open, restricted, and closed. The restricted (one hole) setting is airier than say a kfl+ or a k4, but I think it does a great job at mouth to lung at that setting. If you put a 1.5 ohm coil on it and vaped it like that it would probably give a Kayfun a run for its money, it's a versatile tank.

But

it's really made for more air and more power at lower resistance. I wasn't nuts about my previous RDA experiences. The draw was a little rough on the two I bought at 10-15w on a 1.5 ohm coil. More flavor and more vapor than the old school hardware, but to me it wasn't my perfect vape. I got Mrs. Dr. a k4, and that was more like it. Smooth, great for mouth to lung, and gave more vapor and satisfaction than old school hardware. Then I lung hit my new Subtank Mini at 27.5w and I totally got it. The vapor is warmer than I'm used to, but not rough. The throat hit and lung hit vaping this way is extremely satisfying, and the vapor is just amazing. I'm sold. Never say never until you try it on hardware that can do it well. And don't bail after your first try or two. You kind of need to work your way into it, but when you get there you'll totally see why people vape this way.

Can't speak for the Delta 2, but the Subtank Mini makes a great mouth to lung tank, as does the k4. Whichever way you end up going, good luck finding the gear that works well for how you like to vape.

Sorry if I sound dense, but this is just so new to me.

As someone that took a long time to come around, I finally got it early last year. It really only works if the hardware is set-up perfectly, but the thing that I've pretty much always found, even with old school gear, is that the flavor is pretty much always, if not just primarily, on the exhale. I have always been a slow releaser when it comes to expelling the vapor, it's just that now I have a ton more to release and taste! [You can obviously 'pull' more if using lung strength.] That said, I always start my days off with regular attys (Cisco Spec 1.5Ω on a Spinner) becasue I need TH in the morning. That's one thing -- TH -- that is kinda negated with a direct-lung inhales on the wide-open airflow devices. I need TH in the morning!!!

what he said........X 2

unless you are just buying every piece of vaping gear that comes out i don't see how you can spend as much as you did on smoking. i spent about $250 a month on cigs. even if i buy a mod a month(i don't) there is no way i could spend that much on juice unless i was drinking it not vaping it. in the beginning you might go a little crazy and buy too much gear, but soon you will settle down and have a few good pieces to vape on. juice is the endless chase for perfection and when you realize that no one knows what you like except you you will narrow it down to a few flavors and then the expense should lessen. relax and settle down with a few good tanks(the delta2 is great, so is the subtank-you can keep the atlantis as far as i am concerned- not as good as the other two). if you are still spending more $$$ than when you smoked you have other problems besides nicotine addiction-compulsive spending maybe?

Well, the juice I'm currently buying is almost $1 per ml once I consider the shipping cost. I vape about 5ml per day. Smokes in my state were about $6.50/pack, and I usually smoked 15-20 cigs a day. It's about a wash. If I were to start consuming 7 or 8ml a day because of a sub ohm tank, then it could get out of hand pretty quickly. I have been vaping since Sep 2014, and have spent approx $200 on vape equipment. I don;t think I have been an out of control spender, but since late Nov I found my juice and it is spendy.

Thank again, Vapenstein and Mr. Mann, for your answers.

I guess I'll just have to give it a try.

Pray for me.

Just know that it should not taste burnt, metalicly harsh or like fried cotton -- that would mean it's not set-up right. Of course, if you lived in a place where vaping was EVERYWHERE it may be easier for you to find help. Hmm...I wonder what state could be like a vaping mecca???????????????????????????? ;)

Yeah... :D

I think I'm going to choose the Kanger Sub mini tank--only because it comes with 1Ω coils; and knowing Kanger, those coils will be probably closer to 1.2Ω. ;)

Yup, I'm a wimp.

Thanks.

Kanger coils tend to run a bit higher than advertized--at least that has been my experience to date.

Well. it DOES run abit higher but honestly .5 compared to .56 in mine isn't going to do much. ofcourse a standard mod is going to say .6 probably. the atlantis I had before I sold it(sorry aspire but kanger kicked your ... in flavor) was also like .58

I was really talking about all the other (non-Subtank and non-OCC) Kanger coils.

Have you tried the Delta II yet?

Pulled the trigger on the Delta II. Now I need a mod to push 50 W.

look at the yihi sx mini- but if you have the time and for a lot less $$$ take a look at the ipv4- it is pre-order and only $79.99 with free shipping. one beautiful mod with a yihi board that will do 100 watts. check it out and try not to drool on your keyboard. we now return to our regularly scheduled programming....

Thanks. Yes I was eyeballing the SX Zero clone. I don't want to derail this thread however. Now I've got a lot more to learn about chip makers and clone mod makers, and etc etc etc to get my best bang for the buck ..........all to try the new subohm clearo......the Delta II. Sure hope this is all it's cracked up to be.

Have you guys tried the Delta with its rebuildable deck? I really don't want to vape at 30+ watts (or use sub-ohm coils). I generally prefer Kayfun-type builds, 1.5Ω or so resistance, way under 20 watts vaping. Should I even bother with a tank like Delta II or Kanger Subtank? Why are such high wattages recommended for those tanks?

I'm a mouth to lung vaper and I don't chase clouds. I want good flavor and good performance.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

well so far it is- i have used both the coil and the rba deck and it is proving to be even better than the subtank which is pretty darn good. i just think joyetech makes a better coil-either regular or sub-ohm. great flavor which is more important than clouds IMHO. the rba is a simple 2 post build which is perfect for me because i like a single coil more than dual(or more) for lots of reasons- ease of build, battery drain, and of course, taste. the delta2 is definitely worth a try and it has worked with no problems. no leaks, dry hits, or any other problem. and it sure looks and works fine on an sx mini.....

Great! I think I will like the rba for the same reasons you mention. Only really tried dual coils a few times. I barely have the patience to do single coil builds, but I have a dripper on the way that I intend to use on occasion for testing flavors that will probably shine in dual coil mode.

I am really looking forward to this Delta II tank .......and by the way P4P - I shot you a PM.

Yeah. Nice article--thanks, Spartan.

I ordered a Sub mini because I just have to see what the fuss is all about. But what I really want and hope for is a commercially made tank and coils (both premade and RB option) that deliver a Kayfun-type vape with just a bit more airflow and much more ease of use.

I hope that Kanger will eventually make nice OCC single coil atomizers that will work in Aerotanks. I like my Aerotanks but I don't care for dual coils and silica wicks, and I don't want to mess with rebuilding them.

I'm seriously considering getting a Lemo--I hear it's very Kanger-like but the airflow is better.

Oh well, it's all good. The industry is evolving and we all win. Evolv's DNA 40 technology is very promising, too. :)
