Leaking does go away, at least that's been my experience.
Yeah, meanwhile after they've gunked up a bit I got less leaking. I still haven't rewicked them or tried heads from a different batch to see if that changes anything in general.

Anyways after trying it for 10min in the local vape shop I found it was pretty much the perfect vape to me. Plus I love stealthy devices. So it's quite disappointing taking 3 back home just to see them all leaking after the first vape. I'm not quite ready to put them in the pocket.

On the more positive side the vape shop also gave me a 500mAh wall adapter (also from joyetech), so it doesn't get hot anymore when charging and thus might increase life time of the battery.

I wouldn't say everyone. We have a ton of these here at work and no one is having this problem here. I've definitely seen the problem around in threads and videos around the net, but it's not as widespread as one might think.

If it does happen here, I'll dive in and try and figure out what is different between a working one and a leaking one.

Bought this for my daughter and she likes it.
The issue she is having is at times the tank base will get stuck and will not unscrew. I have to get it off with pliers and this sux because it damages the finish.

Most vape stuff should not be over-tightened, newbs usually learn this rather quickly once they damage their equipment and it costs them cash.

It's most important the topper makes contact with the batt and fires.
Not important at all that it sits flush on the batt. Performance wise.
As a matter of fact, if the ego one is overtightend on the battery, you'll probably loose
the ability to adjust the airflow.

With new equipment a new user will normally experience "issues" this is almost always due to user error.
The equipment will undoubtedly be blamed though because "we are all perfect and know everything that is needed to be known, before we even knew it" we are just "that good".

Keep in mind here if you look around and almost everyone is happy with a device but you are not.
The trouble must be with the device or how it's being handled.
The device always looses in this case, it must be defective. Or not. Cheers.

I'm looking to get one of These set ups for my brother who is a hardcore smoker . How is the battery life of these units and how long do the coils last ? He is not handy and I'm sure I'll have to rebuild the coils for him but I just want to make sure he can get a full day out of a battery . I suppose they make 2200 mah batts but he would prob prefer the stealth batt

Best to not force or tighten anything on any battery, especially if the pin isn't adjustable.
The ego one isn't. It's a starter kit afterall.

Will the eGo One tanks still make contact after that?

Probly not. Cheers.
That's why I have asked if anyone has done so. On the iStick 20w you don't have a spring loaded pin either. But it does move a little inside the oring, so you can take a tooth pick and push it up again should you have forced it down too much.

I sure wish they could fix this leaking issue--it's like the wick isn't dense enough, and the juice just seeps out through the coil. Seems like nearly everyone is having these problems with this device.
And / or the juice holes are too big / too many, so no vaccum can be established in the tank.

The 200 mah/XL is not *that* big. Maybe a touch shorter than my 20w I stick with a nautilus mini on it. The 1100 mah is super tiny, though. Almost bought that instead of the XL, but I wanted the extra battery life so it could last all day as my main device

I'm really enjoying the Ego One tank on a VW mod at 10W or so. With the 1 ohm coil and a tight draw, the flavour is so close to an rda its not funny. This is the best flavour (and vapour production) I have ever experienced from any clearo at a tootle puffing 10W power. Not really what its designed for, I know. Very smooth and low throat hit which is how I like it. No leaks here. The rba looks interesting as the coils are expensive but worth it for the vape quality. Can you tell I'm impressed?

Hello everyone,

I read somewhere that the Ego One is best when used with a resistance between .5 and 1.5 ohms and no higher - something to do with Ohm's Law. Am I going to have issues if I use it with a tank at 2.4 ohms? I vape around 5-6 watts. What is my alternative if I want a mod with the same diameter and length as the Ego One?
