I got the power mode switching thing today. Luckily my build was too low ohm to fire in power mode. It was a .07 nickel build on my mutation x v3. It was hitting solid then as it heated up after a few puffs I got nothing and looked and it was in power mode giving a low ohm error. That issue is a real problem, if my build was a bit higher I would have gotten a brutal dry hit or a small fire in my atty. I had to wait about 20 minutes for it to cool down and read correctly again.

I love the eVic but that is a scary problem. I have two of them and may just stick to the stock tank now. Seems risky with my rda and doesn't seem to work right with my subtanks. With the subtank it's either weak puffs or dry hits. The stock ego mega tanks work great with it. I don't get why it struggles so much with everything else.
Maybe that's why they use gold plated contacts for the ego one tc coils :p

So my vape shop really gave me an evic today took my ipv4 due to resistance issues they wanted to give me a replacemebt ipv4 which i vaped on for a hour hanging at the shop still wasnt completely satisfied my buddy looks at me and says evic n ipv4 are practically the same price i have a few black and reds do you want that instead so of course i now have an evic and gave back my black ipv4 which couldnt read resistance at all tellin me a .11 nickel build was .27 but the evic was reading at .11 3 ohms tester and a sx mini and a new ipv4 so obviously mine had a defect but have had it for about 6 hours now and completely love it the coils suck but vapenw.com has the rebuidables clr for $14.95 U.S. a lil pricey but cheaper than a 5 pack of coils so id rather build to suit my taste than these .2 prebuilts o yea and joyetech msrp for rebuidable is $22 U.S.

Me too, It's not working like it should/advertised.
I don't use kanthal anymore, I'm allergic for ni200,the main reason I bought the VT was the availability of Ti settings on the device, pity that just just the settings of Ti are not right and with no chance for a upgrade (big bummer).
I think JT must give us a solution, I'm getting bored used as a beta tester when I buy a new released device, I paid 80 euro for it (only the mod) may I aspect it works like advertised ?

@JeremyR
I don't know how long you've been vaping but its always been this way. Unless you get older, ironed, tech and spend hundreds of dollars.
It's something you get used to in this newer and growing industry.

I'm aware of that but It's not that we must accept or get used to it, I want to rely on the specs and possibility's a device can handle as advertised if not It's a problem for the manufacturer and not for the buyers, do your homework I want to say to them before releasing.
I have 26awg Ti in my Lemo 2, 8/9 wraps 2.5mm I.D and it's great.
470°F, 32watts, 0.41Ω with a bamboo rayon wick.
It's been in for a few days and works as it should.
I'm not sure what you expect it to do, the TC kicks in if I press the fire button without vaping on it, as it should.
When I vape it produces good tasting thick clouds of vapor, what more can I ask for, no dry hits and clouds.
Vaping nirvana.

If your VT is working fine I would say love it and enjoy it ;)
what I expect it to do or maybe better what I don't expect it to do;

dropping out TC mode (I can still taste and feel this extremely hot horrible vape in my mouth)
reading the wrong resistance at start
calculating the wrong temp in Ti mode ( I need to set it much higher)
keep asking the same/new coil question at some occasions (mostly outside in the garden or car)
changes to the resistance even when it's locked
giving a inconsistent vape (not always)
showing his firmware version without being upgradable

But when the VT does his job like it should it's a very nice mod, I still like it, it's powerful, good battery life, nice touch and looks but it's the only mod I don't use before watching the screen and taking a carefully test-vape, I just don't trust it anymore. Maybe somewhere a bad connection, this inconsistency in behaviour could point at this but I don't want to open it yet for the sake of warranty and return.
So yes if it was more reliable (in my case) and also upgradable I would be much more positive about this.
Maybe others don't have any problem with it but I do have, I still like mine cheaper Waidea Vapor Flask more.

After having tried out too many builds this only happened once to me. After heating up it caused a short and changed to VW. Maybe this is what happens with all of you.

I still have a hard time setting this up at it should. After a while i loose the flavour and tried almost anything. I revised the wick several times, changed cotton inumerous times, even used silica to see if that whas the problem. Now i have a 0.12 build with awg30 Ni200 and it seems to hold.... have to crank up the temp. to a respectable 270ºC and keep the W low. I checked the "coil building section" and tried a few but for some reason kanthal satisfies me better then Ni. When i take out the build it looks like kanthal with 2 weeks of heavy usage..... Still can't figure out what i'm doing wrong, time to get another TC device and compare them i think or just put this one on hold and go back to my beloved SX mini S-class....

hmm, could that actually be a fail safe? I mean, if the build is under .15 it won't fire in power mode right?
Mine is still working perfectly, but it does sound scary if that would ever happen. What was the power set at when it changed? Was it at your power settings or was it the same as in vt mode?

Anyone tried the clr heads for the ego one yet? There's a 5 pack for under $10 on slowtech. Would love to hear a review of them on the VT before I order them [emoji14]
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.
They do wick better, but its still the same tank..its ok, but can't really compare it to better tanks imo
