My experiments did not include a probe... I built an identical coil (2.5 mm i.d. Ni200 10 wraps .18 on my reader, and .19 on the iStick TC40W, and .19 on my DNA40. The DNA40 has the Kanger Subtank Mini on it, the iStick TC40W has the Atlantis. The eVic VT was a touch troublesome as I was unable to duplicate the coil precisely in the CLR head for the eGo ONE Mega, and came out to .18 on my reader and .22 on the device... I imagine the coil shifted...). All devices were set to 40 watts, 480 degrees F. The vape on the first firing is very similar throughout. However, on subsequent firings, the iStick and the DNA40 seemed cooler (I was chain vaping, so the coil really didn't have much of a chance to cool down). The temp on the eVic felt much more stable. One more note... a second iStick TC40W was built to .13 in a Kayfun 4 and the same settings on the mod. It provided the warmest vape... I had to turn the heat down...

hey guys and gals, I made a poll about the evic battery life. Go vote here How long does your evic vt battery last? | E-Cigarette Forum
A good thought but how many seconds a battery lasts without knowing the average vaping wattage doesn't really tell much about battery lifespan.

How many mils of juice vaped on a single charge tells much more imo. Example: vaping 20ml of juice at 40w drains the battery about the same as vaping 20ml of juice at 20w, it just takes about twice as long (seconds) to vape the juice at 20w.

No prob :p
So according to my tests...at max wattage, anything below 380 will spike above set temp for about a second, then settle down to on or near set temp. At 380 was a sweet spot, where it didn't go over, and hit set temp fairly well. The higher you set from the more off it got. This testing was done on an rba with out the top cap, on an unwicked coil, prob positioned at the inside center of the coil.

I prefer 40w for my single coil .6 28 ti build.. I like to keep it out of temp protect so it gives me a vape like kanthal..

Well to get that punch I also have to run the temprature such that it will burn the juice. Just not as bad as kanthal..

Of course the rayon is always just fine, juice burns well before rayon in use, never even burnt a rayon wick in kanthal mode..juice burn is nasty enough you won't keep going.

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. My second eVic just died... seriously, W T F?!

I replaced the first one three weeks ago after encountering the never-ending "battery low" error.

This second one? It just completely died in the middle of taking a hit. The screen went black and it won't turn back on or fire. (It had a nearly full battery, so that shouldn't be the issue).

I removed the atty, tried plugging it in, and still nothing. Just a black screen. :(

Am I ... cursed, or are these eVics simply pieces of junk?

Unless the shop reset my 30-day return window when I picked up the last replacement, I may be screwed this time. I'll find out tomorrow morning, so please wish me luck!

PS: if anyone has any ideas, let me know!

I got mine at the vape expo in NJ 2 weeks ago first one I got I walked halfway around the building and realized it wasn't the kit when I opened it up. Second one I got was the kit after she opened it up and made sure got halfway around the building again to try it out and it was dead from the start so I had to take it back again and she just switched out the evic for the one I originally had without the tank lol. No issues yet

Hey, folks. Please excuse any blatant ignorance in this question, but does it make sense that the VT would work in Celsius but not in Fahrenheit? That seems to be what's happening here. Temp control kicks in immediately in Fahrenheit, no matter what temp I set, but I've been happily vaping away for about 24 hrs now at 310C, using the stock tank and a .20 ni coil head, and the VT has performed flawlessly - absolutely fantastic vape. Then, finally, I got curious enough to Google 310C - cuz I'm 'Merkin and I don't speak Celsius - and holy cow, that's 590F! That can't be right, can it? Seems like that would be way too hot to be pleasant, but it's not at all, and I'm doing MTL hits with the airflow closed off about three-quarters of the way. So now I'm thinking maybe something is kinda janky in Celsius, too, which would make sense, since Celsius and Fahrenheit are not separate 'settings,' per se (are they?).

I bought this off the classies and didn't get the user manual, and this is my first experience with TC, so I'm reluctant to blame the mod for anything at this point. I read a lot of posts and watched some tutorials before diving in. I locked in my base resistance and all that, but stability isn't really an issue. In practical terms, there really isn't an issue because even if the VT isn't functioning correctly, it's certainly functioning well ... as long as I keep it in Celsius, anyway. I'm getting a warm, billowy, flavorful vape that I'm digging on in a serious way. However, I don't want to be sitting here all dumb and happy doing something stupid that might result in an awkward conversation with my insurance carrier. Anybody have any thoughts?
