Has anyone used the joyetech evic vt 60w yet? I am thinking about buying one today. I have the Pegasus mini but I prefer not to mess with removable batteries and I love the temp control.

If you read through the thread, I believe you will find very mixed opinions. With the state of the current market, I think many might suggest you looks elsewhere. However, if you are happy sticking to Ni200 and Ti for TC, are not vaping some of these new sub-ohm tanks that require more than 60W to shine and you find a deal such as the one linked below ($33.99 - battery only; white or yellow only), you will most likely be very happy. Good luck!

My first one held up so well delivering constant power and strong battery life that I recently purchased a second one. It has never failed me.

disclaimer: I never got into TC, so it's running straight POWER mode, but that is fine with me. The battery life and large, bright screen are winners. It's still smaller and lasts longer than my 100W iStick.

Spot on, jefsview! Besides the occasional dud, most people's complaints were with TC, especially those trying to run Ti and SS. I've never heard a single person, who only runs in power mode, dis the eVic VT. Solid performer for the price!

hello Angel1964,

have to say the Joyetech VT 60w is a solid device...

but it has a 'glitch' that after you let it sit (after appx 4min idle, it goes to sleep)
when it 'wakes-up' it shoots a 30W burst into your coil - -
IF you don't have a coil that can handle 30w, it burns giving a bad taste...

the VT 60w is NOT upgradeable (Joyetech mistake)
I think they are out of production, and once gone , who knows...

but I don't know of any other problems and mine has been flawless
big batt lasts very long, that thumb toggle is cool, the finish is just beautiful
remember, IT IS VERY HEAVY !

have you looked at its little cousin:
the iStick TC40W - temp control, 2600mah, 40w, small lite
it has also been a great device for me

only OTHER to compare (but without TC) is the MVP Pro
there is that Cortex 80w TC 3300mah but I know NOTHING about it

good luck, let us know...

That 30w burst was remedied in a hardware update though. Mine came with the newer hardware/firmware (sold mine recently so can't check the version number) and it didn't have that problem.

Correct. IIRC it was FW version 1.10 that "fixed" the 30W burst.

oh really - guess I missed that...

so Joyetech remedied the problem, then made a few more of them, hmmmmmm

yepper, if you use it in TC mode it would never be a problem, but it makes tootle puffing a bummer...

thanx guys
:)

Any tips on stopping the leaking?

The VT does sample the res for quite a while while sitting idle. Like minutes.. Nothing u can do about that. The screen is larger so it uses more power. You can set the screen to stealth mode by holding toggle to left and holding fire button for 3 seconds. I get about the same run time as I did with the I stick 50w. A little more if in VT mode.

Ok so I bought one and I use my triton mini with nickel at about 35 w 500 degrees and about 1100 puffs. Lasted 2 days before charging. I have the Pegasus mini tc which is ok but I hate dealing with removable batteries. Seems like there was one in the charger all the time. The Pegasus mini only takes one battery and doesn't last a day the way I vape. The evic comes with the ego one mega tank which works well. The problem I have with it is the small base. The first time I took it off the mod, it unscrewed from the tank and I had ejuice everywhere. It's hard to grasp so be careful! It's bottom fill as well and I'm really loving the top fill tanks. I will also add that my triton mini is top fill but the tank seems to be "spinning". It doesn't tighten up completely for some reason.

I bought mine in the beginning of September & loved it I ended up giving it to my father to try & quit smoking & he loved it until the other day he started to get the dreaded electronics issue. This one charges fine, battery is full, everything seems to be function fine until you push the fire button to vape screen goes blank & powers off the unit 5 clicks & it turns back on & everything functions as it should he just can't fire it. I am going to tear into it tonight & see if there is a short somewhere. There are tons of problems with the VT & not sure I would replace it with another one. Crossing my fingers the VTC mini I gave my brother got a month or so after the VT & My Cuboid I got in December hold up longer then the VT. Luckily I gave my father the Coolfire 4 plus I won here & was only using the VT as a backup & a once in a while vape

I would be optimistic. #5 or 5.5 torx, I was able to use a 6. Just 5click to turn off and hold it with the *button Down when you try to slide it out.

But the longer it sits turned on with liquid on the contacts, the more chance of corrosion.

I consider mine pretty bullet proof. It's the only mod I have, and I have no worries.

yup I have taken it apart a few times. I take all mine apart every couple months & clean
I am an engineering lab tech we build plasma cutter so I cut steel most of the day & the metal dust gets everywhere. I would think I would have more issues with ones I bring to work then on that stays at home with my retired father

I'm getting a low power prompt when the power button is pressed (the battery indicator is at about 80%). I opened it up and cleaned it using electrical contact cleaner after letting it dry out the problem is still there. Using a Mutation v4 with a 1.2 ohm dual coils (standard power mode) which fires find on a different APV. Any ideas?

It must be detecting battery voltage of 3.3v. Did you try to fully charge it now with the USB port cleaned... I have seen the battery jump on initial short charge and then drop back down to correct level when fired.

Yes I tried charging it as well but it acts as if it is fully charged (the indicator goes to full scale and stays). When I remove it from charging the indicator drops 1 bar until I connect a atomizer then it goes up to fully charged and refuses to fire and gives the low power prompt.
