Got mine all up and going, played around to get a feel for it. It's very easy to use after just a couple minutes. I can only use tc with the included tank, but it seems to be working great, it's pretty cool. What wattage do you guys set this ego one mega to? I mean I could technically put it at 60 watts right? Actually let me rephrase that. What's a good temp AND wattage to set it at? I normally hot my subtanks at 16 watts, but that's .5 ohm. This is a lot different, not really sure where to start lol.

Received mine today! Set it up, started tinkering. I set it up with the ego mega tank, didn't care for the flavor much, but may give it a second chance. Threw on the subtank woth Ni200 coils, locked in resistance (read .14) and vaped. Great vape. Played some more and set it down for a few minutes. When I picked it back up to get another lung full, it was a different vape. I looked at the locked in resistance and it changed from .14 to .12. I thought locking it was locking it. I'm a bit confused.

So, when the the resistance changed, I had to turn up temp to get same temp vape. Seems to have settled in at .12. Have it set now at 30 W, 500*. Tasty. But still confused how the resistance has changed after locking it in. I emailed joyetech, so we will see what their reply is. Could be a safety feature so you don't blow up the battery.

I love my yellow Evic so far. Once I closed off the air on the Mega it got better taste. I love this device so far. Feels good in hand, sturdy and doesn't feel like a toy. I just ordered the white and black model so I have 3. I hate to say this but SX Mini, IPV4 may sit on the shelf for a bit. I love this device that much. Joyetech knocked this out of the park and for $75 it is gonna be tough to beat

Think that was the case. And now that I think about it, I think it says to use .2 ohm nickel or higher.

Hoping that I can use these sub tanks...I love them! Hoping that maybe Kanger will make a .2 coil head if that's the case.
.2 ohm nickel or higher? That is not good, the coils I ordered are .1 ohm ni200.

I Videoed myself and saw it was temp protecting well before hitting temp. Can't be a flow issue, as this tank us drinking the juice. Prob user error.

Temp protect will tell you exactly what your coil, mated to your wick will do.. If its a bad coil or wick job you will be limited by design.

Its telling you you can't go as high as you want because the coil will overheat.

Its an excellent tool to really learn how your wick and coil are performing.

There's a lot of things this mod does by design that may confuse people.

Well I just tried 500 degree at 35 watts, pretty satisfying vape. Nice and warm.
Actually one of the things I do like about the mod is how easy it is to change the temperature. With the Vaporshark, you need to lock the mod, and then hold the up and down buttons to switch the mod into the mode where you set the temperature.

When I started using the evic-VT, I would lock the settings, but then I found that I like having it unlocked so I can easily switch the temperature up or down on the fly.

That's incorrect. Because the joyetech website says that the mod supports coils from 0.05 ohm to 1 ohm in temp control mode. I know some sites had said that the resistance limit was 0.2 ohms in temp control mode. I guess they confused that with the resistance of the included coils?

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I think it is the coil, because I tossed that coil and grabbed a new one and that reads consistently at 0.14 ohms.

Yeah after using it for a couple hours, I'm really liking the temp control, I like it somewhere between 460-500 degrees. I also like stealth mode, I have no need for a display to light up every puff, but with a quick tap I can check my settings. I'm in love. And I agree, I lock my isticks, but with this knob I think I'll be just fine keeping it unlocked.
