Those rubes can pay $200 a mod all they want, it's those that discern quality from a "name" that continue the movement and affordable pricing. I just talked to one of my B&M's that said he just dumped his vapor shark because it could never provide a temp he liked...too cool. Hit my Evic, and said it was the best TP mod he's hit to date.

Joyetech has been one of the biggest names in vaping for a very long time, going back the the first genuine eGo 650 mah. They have always produced high quality, long lasting products. And were never known for being the most inexpensive around, just reasonable prices for a well engineered product.

Just read about DNA 200. They can have it. NO ONE NEEDS TO VAPE AT 200W....NO ONE

That's what they said about 10W when I started vaping. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing. Things change, back then I never thought we'd ever see a 40w device much less 200. Everybody has a preference.

I know what your saying. The last couple of days I've parked my VT on 60 watts, then control the vape with temp only. I can totally see having more power than that to get things rolling...but 200watts??? I don't know, that seems pretty high. Guess I'll find out eventually. Maybe I'll be able to afford another high end device around Christmas...2016:facepalm:

I'm back to Ti coil again, first 2 puff flavor are great love it but after that flavor gone again, let it cool down a few min, flavor come back again. Is it normal? or should I set to 60w and let temp control do the rest?
I'd rather try with 30w. Sounds like the wicking can't keep up..I'm at 30w an 205'C on my RDA with ti build.

btw, was just thinking about how big utubers are really late on this one..there must be a conpiracy!! :D

I"d would have said the same thing about Evolv but the amount of hassle that I've had with the DNA40 has completely changed my mind.

I'm not going to support any company purely because of their geographic location - especially if they've let me down in their lack of quality control.

In my short experience with the eVic VT, the higher I set the wattage in temps control, the more noticeable the pulsing becomes once it hits the desired temp. at 60 watts, I can actually feel and hear the pulsing of the coil on and off while lung hitting.

Personally, I leave it at 30 watts and only adjust the temp (usually between 550-600 F). For me, that provides a more consistent vape with plenty of clouds, and no noticeable pulsing.

Here's a strange experience i had last night:

I made a nickel coil for my Subtank Mini, in a used coil head....spaced coil, 0.22 ohm, wicked as I have done countless times. It was working decent, but providing less than desired vapor. 30W 550 F. Temp Ni.

I forced a new coil/same coil option and selected new coil....... I took a big ole lung hit..... It was the driest, burnt, harshest, nastiest hit I've ever had. Sent me into a coughing fit and gave me a weird buzz for about 30 minutes...... What the hell was that? Burning nickel? I didn't think that was possible using temp control.

I looked at the coil and wick after that and the cotton looks fine, but the nickel wire looks charred.

Does anyone have any idea what that was?

I agree. Pbusardo did the dovpo crap boxes before this mod... Have only seen limited coverage and i think they missed the boat on a superb mod.

There were quite a few "first look" look videos or mentions from Grimm Green (2 Vlogs), Rip Trippers, Twisted420, and a few fuller reviews like Pauly Meatballs and The Vaper Chronicles (his are always more first look vape mail ones, however). Even though many YT reviewers have sung the praises of the "NEW" Joyetech "hitting it out of the park" they seem to have lost the buzz captured by Kanger, Aspire, Sigelei and others.

Performance, durability and quality usually wins out and a slow trickle of accolades and other positive comments might recapture some lost glory.

Did you let the coil come to room temp? Just guessing that maybe the registered resistance isn't the true resistance and that made it fire way hotter.

I think so.... My eVic doesn't automatically ask the new coil/same coil menu question, even when switching between the included Ni and Ti coil heads. It took me several minutes of switching tanks, powering off, menu fiddling, etc., to finally get the option to come up. I'm guessing my coil was pretty cool by that time.

Yup I saw all of the first looks and they were just that... First looks.

These mods are hitting the doorsteps of vapers and the "mainstream" is behind the times. They had them in their hands and haven't published a decent review yet.

There maybe some better ones than the last time I looked (2 weeks-ish). I pulled the trigger on one so I haven't looked to see what is new in vlog land.

I think vapor chronicles and vapenw sold me on it.

Dont know about the charred Ni but that, my friend, was the taste of burning insulator grommet, probably due to a hot leg. Been there once, and thats the reason I dont rebuild these heads any more!! The worst vaping experience i have ever had and I dont want to repeat it! Incdentally, mine happened with a regular kanthal build but I am absolutely sure that is what happened to your Ni version.

ps. It goes without saying that you should bin that particular build!

Been reading this thread for a while as I have been thinking of getting into the TC game for a little bit. Then I had the misfortune of having my Istick 50 auto fire my nautilus tank Thursday (does not auto fire my RDA though but still scares me) and realized I needed something new. So I ordered up an orange VT from Sweetvapes Friday evening. It is out for delivery today. Can't wait to open it up and get familiar with it. There was also one reviewer that did a pretty good review on this; Smokey Joe. It was what helped me go over the edge and buy it.
