Ooh, what do I search for to get one? I tried to find one and thought I found reference to it, with a link to some RC site called Medusa Products, but they're out of business.

One thing I noticed is if you fully charge the mod and leave it turned on, after 24h you loose like 10% (battery bar doesn't show full anymore.

Is that turned on with no atomizer, or with atomizer?

I won't talk about lipos again since every time I do, it gets messy. However, I charge my lipo RC packs with a balancer which balances each individual cell no matter if in series or parallel. It's actually quite a show when terminal voltage is almost reached and one cell is lower than the others as it will start 'burning' off the excess of the cells with higher voltage and chirp like a canary lol.

A proper balancer will monitor each individual cell. The very good balancers will also intervene directly to correct anomalies and interrupt the charging process if things go way out of wack. I have two balancers and one is active and the other is passive. The passive one monitors and corrects but can't stop the charging process or burn off energy at a too high rate. The other intervenes and opens the charging circuit if things go out of hands.

This cell should be able to take at least 1c or 4-5amps. We're charging at 1 amp. Well below the charge rate the battery should handle..

On RC batteries they will say it's a 100C rated battery, but the charge is much much less. They say 1C is the best to charge them at but they can be rated upwards of 4C. In RC we charge our batteries at around 20 amps which is around 3C and they get very warm. A typical discharge can see upwards of 150 amp bursts. The batteries in these mods are not even in the same ballpark as an RC battery...not...even...close. Comparing them is silly really.

Yeah, .04 is a huge deal, but does it really matter? How many of you got dry hits using this device? Is the temp way of because of that? I don't know, but 3 youtube reviews i saw, said the temp was spot on? I know people got nasty dry hits with dna40's, but everybody is talking about it like its a device to be compared with?

Anyhow, i really enjoy my evic, it survived its first flight today ( in the pocket,with lemo on, and no leaking). Now lets see how good it is with sand, sun and 40+'C

As you can see from the attached data sheet, Li-Po manufacturers usually spec a max charge rate in C as well. This came about because of foolish accidents that have occurred with Li-Pos. This information comes from the manufacturer. If you don't trust the data sheet, you should probably avoid the battery as well. SONY, Panasonic, LG, Tenergy, etc all have published data sheets for their batteries...

Ordered it, though I had promised to not get any more tc mods for a while. The price was simply too good, and I'm hoping the tank will be ok with the rebuildable coils (it looks good). Got the black one, though I was very tempted by the orange/yellow.

Now for real: is this li-po stuff safe to use?? I saw some vids on YT and until nobody "messes" with them they seem to be safe (seem!!!)

Other question raised is the balanced charging he was talking about but in order to do that we must have each li-po monitorized..... Well the investigation continues. Let's see what Phil has to say about this tomorrow i think he will release his side of the story and put a lot of questions to rest....

A rc lipo should give back the mah it's rated for at its nominal discharge rate. If you drain at a faster rate, it will give less, if you discharge it below, it will give more.

I only don't agree that someone lists a lipo with imaginary mah just because he knows it will be discharged at a low rate and will probably give more mah than its rated for.

Anyway, who cares. The battery will last me 2.5 days of normal vaping which is close equivalent to my mini dna mod which will give 1.5 days with a single 2500 samsung 18650.

Yeah the batteries are labeled as 2S, 3S, 4S and upwards. The S meaning series. Parallel batteries don't need balancing.

If I remember from the video correctly, these lipos are the same basic type used in mods like the istick, which are in a hard outer shell much like the 18xxx batteries, unless they are different now? I believe that was a pre production model in the video I saw

yeah, i know, but so many negative observations, that i'm sure it would make me think twice before buying it. I know you are just testing it really good, and i'm really happy you do it (especially bloke and you Tony), but i guess i read 10 times about ticking sound,and people saying it must be a bomb or something another guy wrote how his device reads standby temp at 100'C as soon as he activates it, which must mean that its off by 70'C, and so on..

i don't know, maybe its just me, but i usually do a lot of research before buying stuff. i just remembered how i delayed my first vape buy in 2008, because i read too many of such comments here on ecf.

Well i have a diferent problem and it might be worse then a floating res. I tried several builds with diferent res but ALWAYS the same juice.. New build lots of flavour and lots of clouds, low temp. and low W.. great vape experience. After a couple of hours: no flavour, clouds are ok (i'm not a CC) just dims out completely, same res reading.. This goes on until i put the device away pick-up my SX with kanthal and great vape again... I have to make a new build to get the same experience back, so building is about 2-3X a day if i want it to taste like i'm used to. Using a subtank mini, 0.11Ohm res with awg 30 Nickel 200 and a 2.5 id. tried 3 and 2 but worse for flavour..

I'm starting to think that tc is not for me....... and i'm really thinking of selling this since it doesn't satisfies me... Seem i have to go always back to kanthal to get a good vaping experience. This in VW is a great device too but if i can't enjoy it what's the point of having a tc device.....

Sounds to me like a wicking issue, it's not wicking fast enough for the temp you have set.... You come back later, it's had time to catch up and saturate again
