I ask that you all try this... take a look at your nickel builds when the device is still on but in between vapes... are your coils "very warm" signifying that there is some power constantly running through them even when "off".

Weird stuff.

The only power I could meassure is a little 1.17v between the pluspool and the chassis, It's not constant but it looks like It's pulsing fast and indeed always on except when you put your device off, the graph bar on mine dmm could barely hold on with the speed of it.
It's related with the soft ticking sound you can hear, I've heard that the VT is constantly checking the resistance using that low voltage puls.
But It's so low I couldn't imagine it would heat up your coil ;)

Oh my god!

I just rest my ear on the VT and I can hear the tick tick tick while at rest... Isn't that eating battery? :/

I think we have reached the heart of the problem. Those who are seeing the resistance change while unlocked are working perfectly. Those that are seeing no change when unlocked are getting an inferior vape experience. Is there a poll feature in this forum? Would like to know how many people are experiencing this issue and what color mod they have.

Or the wrong wire, this is all new technology, and new to many users. The tech is finicky in nature. Too many variables to blame the mod off the bat.

Now I feel like an idiot: I adjusted the wick in my "known to be stable" tank, and I'm back to vaping at 440.

The eVic was doing exctly what it's supposed to do...imagine that:facepalm:

Pretty much with temp control you basically have a mod that talks back.. "nope you screwed it up you can't get good vapor without overheating. Try again".

But in much less words and in code, so new people have a lot to learn about the technology and how it works.. It's very easy to mess up.

I know we're on the same page.

What's up with that? Mine does it too. Did Joyetec arm a bomb in these things?
It's a evil plan about conquering the world with thousands of handheld nuclear devices lol
Mine stopped after 10 minutes idle.

It's aliveeeeeeeeeeee ....... frankenmod for sure.
Mine has been impec. v1.18 about 36-40º for device temp. Vaping the s*** out of it since friday. Also have the tic-tic sound and high pitch whistle but only in NI or TI mode.

Did notice that it doesn't like coils with a low resistence (<0.10Ohm) kind of limits itself.... Using a 0.13Ohm in the mega tank modded with 2.5mm juiceholes and rayon for a change.......

Yeah, but I've been vaping TC since December, so I feel doubly dumb for not catching that one!

Ok, after 10 minutes idle it stopped. Smells like refinement or something

That's what I'm curious about, how intelligent is this chip and the present of some kind of refinement.

Mine does for about 30seconds after use. Sounds like a taser charging.. I think it's sampling the resistance or something.. How much power I don't know but I put my screen in stelth mode which should compensate for it.

Ok, built a couple of coils for the st mini rba base. 9 wrap 28g ni came to .2 on my ohm reader and 7 wrap 28g came to .15. On my vt, the .2 ohm is reading at .13 and the .15 was reading at .09. Gonna try another kind of base to test, but seems it just may not read ohms as exactly as we'd hoped...or the kanger rba bases aren't that great either...a little frustrating.

I did do a temp test on dry cotton, didn't start to scorch til 420...so that part seems accurate.
The thing is, as long as the readings are consistent, even if off, then tc will still work... As long as you go by taste and not the number on the screen :p.
Every problem I've experienced was from certain tanks and coils not playing well with the mod....my sub tank mini with rba reads the same resistance on the vt and the invader mini...but using occ coils or the v1 sub tank, it's a crap shoot. So now the sub tank mini has a permanent home on top of the vt, the v1 sub tank on the invader, and I'm a happy vaper :p

No dude! Put your ear up the the micro usb port where its open..

I .... you not I hear Morse code!!! It really does talk back but in morse code.. But seriously it sounds like morse code with the ticking. Lol. Tick tick beep beep pause beep beep beep
...--..--...--..--...-.

It's obviously working and inspecting the resistance I assume. This is even in vw kanthal mode.

Oh and it is still going right now.. Much Longer than 30sec.

"This is NOT a china mod... this is a mod from AREA 51.... beware it will talk back.....:lol::lol:"

Anyone decoded the message yet?
