The joytech 510 is the best 510 socket I have used so far. It is one of the few 510 connectors that is both spring loaded, gold plated, and sealed against juice seepage into the interior of the mod. A fat daddy socket can't claim that. I also doubt any manufacturer is going to warranty against an uncoordinated Reddit poster screwing in an atomizer. Those people should buy a Zen setup. Reddit is so funny.

Joyetech has produced lots of various devices.
The joyetech evic vtc mini I have certainly does not have a spring loaded connector.

ROTFL.

No offense.

Let me show you 500+ appliances (not just vape gear) made by companies "stateside" that don't work right, are recalled, are shoddily made, etc. etc.

Surely you are kidding.

Out of the hundreds of bits n' pieces of vape gear I've bought and owned in 3+ years, I can honestly say that Joyetech is actually about 80% BETTER than most of the "junk" I've unfortunately owned. :)

You missed the sarcasm.
However, think joyetech can't get sued? This is over their chips.
Evolv sues Joyetech over VW technology !

Joyetech has had shoddy 510s dating back to the first Evic.
There were tons of threads about stripped 510 threads and soft metal used to make the fittings.

They sell a substandard product, and backtrack on the warranty.

At this point they know what they are doing. It's done to encourage only using joyetech atomizers.

Weak sauce.

I thought the OP on reddit was whining about a RX200's connector, which has an excellent 510 connector, and not earlier renditions of the 510. I do find it very human that some think the exact same 510 connection in the DNA200 is okay because the DNA version cost more. LOL

The Reddit user was ...... because of the weak reply from wisemec about a legitimate warranty issue regarding the shoddy 510.

M7x5 thread = 510 fitting.
Joyetech didn't "invent" it.

You are right. They only designed the 510 connection and stole the common M7x5 threading. xP I don't understand all the hate for an excellent product.

The problem is the warranty

The 510 female joyetech used is short and will become damaged if an atty with threads longer than 4.5mm is used.
Using these attys apparently voids the warranty.
Many popular atomizers have threads longer than 4.5mm.

Joyetech knew this would be an issue.
They opted not to tell anyone.
Now they won't honor their warranty.

That's shady, and not an excellent product.

As has been said before. There is no real 510 standard in thread depth. It is up to the end user to make sure a non-joytech tank fits. Many third party tanks have adjustable center pins for this very reason, such as the Kayfun V4. I would blame the tank in this instance.

That's an extremely lame excuse.
Sure there is an accepted standard.
I have 110 mods from various manufacturer that do not have this problem.
They knew going in, that many attys wouldn't work. Joyetech isn't a new company.
This wasn't a mistake.

They want you to only use joyetech atomizers.

They should have warned customers up front about the warranty issue.

The shallow depth of the 510 on the rx200 is my only dislike about it. To be fair, it still works fine. It's just that a lot of atties won't sit flush. My tugboat's 510 is too long and I like things to look flush so I just put it on a different mod. It does, however, work fine on the rx200. It just has a gap when it's on there.

I know that isn't an excuse in some people's eyes. Just looking at things from their perspective and that is that any atty will work fine. You just can't crank down on it to make it sit flush as that would be user error.

I don't have any issues with my RX200 and kayfun v4 clones from 3 different manufacturers, a kanger protank 2, and two Aspire Triton v1 tanks. They all sit flush and work well. :)

That's wonderful.

Do they have 510 threads longer than 4.5mm?
If they do, according to wisemec, they can damage the threads and wisemec will not warranty the 510 connection.

If I was going to the trouble of making an atomizer, I would probably want to make sure that it fit appropriately on ALL popular mods. If I was going to make a mod, I would want to make sure that it accepted ALL popular toppers.

At least the 510 is now pretty much industry standard. I think there is probably fault on both sides here. At least threads like this highlight the issues. Then people can pay their money and take their choice.

I don't think that industry standard lengths (or depths) are necessary. The market is mature enough now for product developers to know what they need to do to ensure compatibility. I guess the Tugboat pin is too long. I guess the Smok TFV4 pin is too long. I guess the Wismec/Joyetech connector is too shallow.

I am sure that when the next generation of products come out, there will be a greater degree of compatibility. Joyetech and others will learn from this. You can bet they read threads like this.

Well the one I have does. Furthermore, all of my joyetechs still perform flawlessly and I have never had a problem with any 510s. Just sayin.
My mini has a spring loaded 510 too, and all my Joyetech/Wismec mods perform perfectly.
