He needs to come to ECF so we can give him tips on stealth vaping. Being a judge is a high stress job and he can't exactly take a smoke break with the masses during a trial. I don't think less of a judge as I do anyone else sneaking a vape.

If the blue light was the only giveaway then... what exactly are they complaining about? Should it have been a green light? Do they want him to pass jugement while on nicotine withdrawal?

Maybe somebody can show him how to properly hide a juul in a sharpie... then he'd only be the judge sucking on paint.

I have to say I think the reporter is an idiot.
Maybe, but the judge WAS breaking the law. Shouldn't judges be held to the same laws as the common man?

I'm personally against legal restrictions against "reasonable" vaping in public places. I admit to stealth vaping in "No Smoking" spaces myself. But this judge was openly vaping in a court room in full sight of dozens of people, and that is clearly against the law.

So you hold the judge to a different standard than yourself? Not openly vaping any more than you admit too.

I wouldn't vape in a No Smoking/No Vaping space in full view of dozens of people. Especially in a court room. I've got more common sense and discretion than that.

I stealth vape where I won't be seen doing the dirty act. What you can't see, it didn't really happen. ;)

LMAO So bears don't crap in the woods eh? I get your point, not saying he was right, but do understand the "why".

If I Vaped inside a NYC Courthouse, I would be Subject to a Criminal Violation.

A Judge would/should be the 1st Person to Agree that the Fundamental Foundation of our Legal System is the concept that is Inscribed on the Front of the Supreme Court Building in Washington DC.

@Baditude is right. I think anti-vaping restrictions are stupid, but once they become law, law-abiding citizens have a duty to obey it while seeking change. That judge should be held to the same standard. If I can't vape in his courtroom, then neither can he.

I was going to say something about how judges are not held to the same standards as common folks, but the words are eluding me right now.
Finding it hard to believe you are speechless. Helps if you take your tongue out of your cheek doll.

The judge has the ability to call a break during a trial. Whether to use the gentleman's room or vape in his judges quarters ... no questions asked. He should remember to turn his mic off first, though.
