A fully grown 'Virginia Bright Leaf' tobacco plant produces leaves a foot wide or wider, and 3 or so feet long. It's been a few years, but my immature plants produced around 4 oz. dried tobacco with the big stems removed if I remember right. Grasshoppers required an early harvest.
Burley is a big producer too, Orientals not so much, but considering they get used at a lower percentage in a blend, oriental tobacco's are worth growing for their aromatic qualities.
Tobacco plants are beautiful, the blooms included (if not growing for the leaf), my personal favorites are the Virginias. Lush green, grow incredibly fast, reach a large size quickly. Cool thread
