A fully grown 'Virginia Bright Leaf' tobacco plant produces leaves a foot wide or wider, and 3 or so feet long. It's been a few years, but my immature plants produced around 4 oz. dried tobacco with the big stems removed if I remember right. Grasshoppers required an early harvest. :(

Burley is a big producer too, Orientals not so much, but considering they get used at a lower percentage in a blend, oriental tobacco's are worth growing for their aromatic qualities.

Tobacco plants are beautiful, the blooms included (if not growing for the leaf), my personal favorites are the Virginias. Lush green, grow incredibly fast, reach a large size quickly. Cool thread @RealJuicyLucy, brings back memories, thank you for this.

It may be that your advice could be very handy in the future!

May be posting a few pics of some transplanting that needs to happen later this afternoon

I'm no expert, but I'll answer questions the best I can. I enjoyed growing Tobacco plants, but it's been a few years. They grow so fast, it's amazing to watch. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Here's a couple forums that might have some info you can use.

First, there are more than a few seedlings in this experiment, second the other stuff will yield a whole lot more than an ounce of usable product when properly cultivated - it can take years and many tries to become a master gardener of anything
Well Ok then... sorry if I offended anyone. It just appeared (to me) like you had a few small seedlings and acted like it was the biggest advancement in tobacco growing ever. I actually wish you the best of luck and hope you have a good harvest.
