I give my dog twice daily supplements of the omegas and glucosamine/chondroitin, and limit any "explosive" exercise. It seems to have helped in the last 3 years she has had it, 36tinybells!

I love the sock idea, Seabrook, I always toss once I get a hole, so I always have a ton of them (usually reserved for garage rags!).

I really don't know if there is a difference from the amber and blue colored bottles, I thought that myself as well, Icebob! My guess is the blue ones are just prettier? Maybe we have some smart cookie on here that knows of any research on here about the amount of light that can get thru the blue compared to the amber bottles.

I wanted to use liquor bottles, but ran into the problem of too much air at the top, and couldn't find tiny (4 oz or 2 oz) bottles that were glass and opaque. I will stick with the canning jar method, I think, it seems to be the most cost effective way thus far!

Colored glass is made by adding chemicals into the mix, with particular chemicals creating specific colors. For example, the amber or brown glass you see used in beer bottles gets its color from iron sulphide. Iron-chromite creates shades of green, while cobalt makes beautiful shades of blue.

A good quick read is here = http://www.glasstopsdirect.com/how-glass-made.php

For those of you that have already seen this my apologies...it's been posted and posted again. For those of you that miss the great wealth of information in this entire section by not reading old threads :)) ) check this place out.

American Science & Surplus : Glass Bottles and Jars

LOTs of glass bottles from the tiny to large. I've purchased the 4 oz amber, 1/2 oz clear, and most recently the pretty blue ones with lilac caps. They're generally $3.50 for TEN bottles, and I've always bought at least 30 at a time and never paid over $5-6 for shipping. They ship fast, and each bottle is wrapped individually and then some. Can't beat it imo :)

For large amounts of pg/vg and nic in my mixing station (not the gallons I have elsewhere!) I use 16 oz canning jars, and in my freezer I have an old vodka bottle, several canning jars and I just bought one more 500 ml amber glass bottle of nic...

BRING ONTHE APOCALYPSE!! ;)

I got my nic mix from Blue Mist Vaping and came in a blue glass bottle. Why don't you use plastic<is it bad for the mix?I went to a resturant supply house and got colored squeeze bottles for my Pg & Vg. Should I be using glass?I'll change them if I should.

You really should use glass. Chemicals can leech out of plastic, and be absorbed as well. They also never come clean imo

Plastic can also get brittle with extreme temp changes and crack...

"........I'm getting old and I don't reccomend it to anyone.

same here ;)

Opinions are gonna differ, and everyone has their preferences. My rule of thumb is if I'm testing a small amount, or mixing something that isn't going to around very long I'll use plastic. Everything else goes or gets transferred to glass. IMO it just makes sense.

Recycle those old baby food jars etc for small juice mixes! They work great!

Several opinions, here's one more :)

Be careful when using glass or plastic containers that used to contain food or drink or draino.

Label contents with something that won't degrade from condensation when taken out of the freezer.

You may or may not remember exactly what was in it. Someone else in the family probably won't.

Some flavored e-juice might smell nice and look pretty to some young adult and his/her gamer friends.

My grandfather stored all his left over BlackLeaf 40, Chain and Bar oil, Gin, and who knows what else in Mason jars in an old shed. Some of that stuff tasted like sheet :) No telling how long it had been there.

Goodness YES! I feel terrible about not saying that! I forget things like that sometimes because it's just my husband and I...the dogs haven't figured out how to open the fridge yet ;)

I'm pretty much incharge of the fridge and all things nic, but I still told my husband the vodka bottle in the freezer is NOT vodka, and labeled it in big letters using magic marker! Yes!

I don't really think you need colored or darkened glass bottles if you are storing it in the freezer. The light does turn off when you close the door. It would probably be pretty dark in there without the light bulb on.

Just my humble opinion.

Pete

I agree with that as well. My freezer glass is all clear. I only use amber glass if wanting to filter out sunlight...no sunlight in my freezer ;)

I just save my Twinlab glass amber vitamin/supplement bottles remove the sticker, clean and voila. I put a new sticker on it and date it so I know what company what date etc. I also have some smaller glass dropper bottles but I reuse any glass jars or bottles I can get on my hands on from any daily source.

speaking of stickers.... what brand do you guys use, I tried 3 brand of printer stickers and the sum..... don't stick... who know about stickers that stick, you know one the disserve the name...

I use printer stickers and they stick pretty good. They are full page inkjet Office Max house brand. I just cut them to size and they come off with out leaving the glue behind. If I use them on something that will be around for awhile and handled quite a bit I just put scotch tape over them to keep the writing legible.

Personally, I can't stand anything except Homelite Bar oil. Everything else is just tastes too strong for me. :p

Agreed, on amber/brown bottles in the freezer.

Mine won't even stick to themselves when I overlap them, guess I need something else too.
