It really wasn't a complaint, my son just chose not to go to theaters anymore. We only have 2 theater chains here, both are multiplexes and one, Harkins' Theaters is owned by a personal friend of mine Dan Harkins always pushed the envelope as far as patron perks and he's an ex-smoker of 30+ years, totally into health and fitness so I can see why he offers that option, but I wonder if it will effect his business....

Hmm. Well that maybe a little different. In that case, it almost sounds like the theater is encouraging vaping. Certainly vape friendly.

In that case, I maybe tempted to blow some clouds into the air. It is like when I vape in a non smoking bar compared to a smoking bar(yes, there are still smoking bars in Florida). A non smoking bar, I will stealth vape, or at least not make a big show of it. In a smoking bar? pfft. I am blowing clouds like a freight train. At least my clouds smell nice compared to the smokers.

I stopped going to movie theaters years ago for a variety of reasons. The excessive cost to see a first run picture, and the price gouging for drinks and snacks ...

But loud and obnoxious cell phone use during the screening finally convinced me to boycott the theater just wait for the DVD release ...

Nothing could possibly be more offensive than a nonstop verbal synopsis of the story line recited by phone to a friend who was either too lazy or cheap to attend in person. Or worse, a viewer who has already seen the movie, and reveals the plot in advance to his remote phone bud ...

Compared to the commonplace rude behavior that pervades movie theaters, vaping is pretty benign ...

I was pretty much just thinking the same thing . . . i.e., "I'll refrain from not-so-stealth vaping if YOU agree to MAINTAIN SILENCE throughout the entire film!!!"

Sheesh, movie-goers have become almost unbearable in the past couple of decades . . . .

I think that the attitude of vapers who want to vape anywhere it isn't expressly forbidden will just get it expressly forbidden in more places. And the people banning it won't stop there.

Might want to also consider that it is possible to set off a fire alarm if there is too much vapor around. Some smoke detectors work by simply gauging based on the sensor's lack of being able to see the beam that the detector gives off. Wouldn't want that, would you? Also, it is just plain rude to vape at all. The other patrons may have allergies, or just rather not breathe your vapor. You may feel it is harmless, but the jury's still out on that. Yes, it is better than cigarettes, but would you suggest that someone stealth smoke in a theater? Honestly, it really isn't that different and if you get caught doing it, they have every right to do whatever the local laws allow to you. Be prepared to take responsibility for your actions. I stealth vape in theaters. I have never been detected as doing so, I have never been approached. My buddy who sat two seats away from me had no idea I had vaped when I told him I did it after the movie. So it seems my double inhale and breathe out through a cloth handkerchief method works just fine. If I was discovered by a fellow movie goer, and they asked me to stop, I certainly would.

I don't see how it can be rude or self-entitled if it has no impact on my fellow movie viewers.

I respect the opinions of those that choose not to vape during a movie, and I would never tell them what to do. Those choices are made by adults who know what suits them best. So why is my choice questioned and my general character judged to be self-entitled by "some" posters?

I think blowing out "large clouds of vapor" is a really bad idea in a movie theater, but I would not call someone who did it names. I might tell them why I thought it was a bad idea, and explain why. They may not have ever thought about it my way, and change their ways, or they might tell me I am completely wrong. Just because they were not being as considerate as I would choose be in that situation doesn't make them a bad person.

I just can not bring myself to vape where others might smell it and be hard pressed to get out of the way of that smell. That doesn't mean you're a bad person,,,,,,,,it mostly means I just can't do it.

I vape everywhere but when I'm inside a store, a bank, or a movie theater, etc. I just hold the vapor in and don't blow clouds. I don't see how anyone could object to that any more than they would object to someone using an inhaler.

It's not as though any of it is getting to where other people are or obscuring a movie screen or anything.

I hardly ever go to movies any more--too expensive! But I wouldn't want to intrude on the pleasure of those who choose to spend the money, whether by talking on a cell phone or vaping large clouds in the theater. In addition, there are often children in the theater, and they notice more than you'd think.

Just a bad idea, unless you can be totally stealthy.

Vaping in enclosed public spaces is nowhere near as dangerous as smoking, but it can be just as annoying.
I'm not having a pop at stealth vapers here it's more the 'check out my huge clouds of vape' crowd.

Respect other people's space always, not just with vaping, and you'll never have any issues.

Really appreciate the comments. My son thinks I'm in this radical Vaping Organization, bawahahahaha! With my nose ring and tattoos, you can kind of understand where he thinks I'm very unconventional!
But, I always asked him if I could "smoke" when I was around him in his own place and vehicle, and it's just been habit to ask the same when I vape around him.

BTW: He mentioned someone was definitely vaping "bacon" in that group.

I mean in a general sense, though. I have thick skin. But I hate to see vapers call each other out over differences in vaping habits. My right and yours don't have to be the same thing.

Yep I'm the same. I'll ask if I can vape in the same places I asked if I could smoke and even in places it's okay to vape I don't automatically turn into a human dry ice machine Though of course the places I asked if I could smoke rapidly diminished in number over the years...

I vaped in a movie theater once, back when I use a tiny ego with stardust. There's barely a vapor and no way someone could know I vape but my gf insisted me not to, just because she afraid someone could saw the vapor and we might got kick out

While I don't agree with vaping in a theater, that's actually a really good idea.
