I know analogs are a zillion times worse on our health. Does nicotine alone have any negative effect at all like say on our lungs? Afterall, that is inhaling something still, so i was wondering..... any feedback???

As far as i know, the only negative side effect from nicotine that has been confirmed is a potential minor effect on your cardiovascular system, because it DOES raise your heart rate (just a tad for most people though, not nearly as much as when you smoke!).

This minor effect on heart rate is inconsequential for most people; however, if you already have cardiovascular problems it can contribute negatively and make it worse. How much worse has not been confirmed, however.

how can you compare the nic level of the e juice vs analogs? ie: if thet say 25Mg og nic (for hi)...how does this compare to the nic content of regular analogs?

Chuaa, i just tracked down this thread. I wish it were a sticky, but thankfully kristin posted it in her stickied faq in the new member's forum (thank you kristin!). This should help you compare:

Also, keep in mind there is a difference between how much nicotine is in something versus how much actually winds up in your bloodstream. Just because you're inhaling 24 mg/mL or whatever, doesn't actually mean that's how much you're getting out of it. You generally absorb less nicotine from e-vapor than from cigarette smoke.

thanks alot...will read thru it....by the way, been reading things like "cutting" the nic content of the juice...how do you do this? do you just dilute the juice with glycerin? like if you have a 24Mg nic....then dilute it with pure glycerin on a 50/50 ratio ..will this effectively cut down the nic content to 12mg?

thanks again...

Yes, it does work exactly like that ;) its proportional math. For example:

Say you have liquid in the strength of 24 mg/mL (or 24 mg / 1 mL)
Take exactly one mL of this, you have 24 mg nicotine there, correct?
Mix with exactly one mL of pure glycerin:
24 mg + 0 mg = 24 mg
1 mL + 1 mL = 2 mL
Now you have 24 mg / 2 mL
Reduce the proportion: 24 / 2 = 12
That leaves you with 12 mg / 1 mL, or 12 mg/mL :)

You can work out similar proportions with any fraction you wish; you want to mix with 3 parts glycerin instead of one? Replace 1 mL with 3 mL and work it out the same.

See now, this is what you get for talking to a math major ;)
