Here's an eBay listing of the "mini" board (22mm x 17mm x 4mm [0.87 in x 0.67 in x 0.16 in])

Mini Size 3A 4 5 28V Input 0 8 20V Output Step Down Voltage Regulator I | eBay

The possibilities ! How easy is the pot to adjust on such a tiny thing?

What is the highest power output i can use with two of these? Say i get a 20volt 5amp power supply....will it power two of these at say 7 volts nicely? Amsahr IBM 40Y7659, 40Y7660, 40Y7661, R60 Laptop Replacement AC Power Adapter : 20Volt & 90Watt4A

So I decided I wanted to build a box mod and stumbled across this thread. I wanted a board that had an display built in so I bought one on Amazon because I didn't want to wait till the Chinese new year is over for it to ship. Anyhow this is the board I bought

I thought it had a built in on off swith but it's just for the display. My question is what do I need to do to get it to turn on and off with a micro switch. I read something about isolating pin 5 but I really can't find any traces on this thing. Any suggestions?

Just attach a switch to those two pin holes that say on off. Does not have to be a high amp switch.

Well I'm guessing something is messed up with the board then even if it's not jumped it's always firing.

The way that I do one is to have a main power on/off power switch between my input voltage(batteries) and the boards IN+. Then from OUT+ I have my fire button(usually a madvapes horn switch) between it and my 510 connector. This way I can I have the power off in my pocket, turn on the power and adjust my output voltage with the Trimmer and then press the fire button to vape. I may be misunderstanding your problem but I take the onboard on/off out of the equation.

been there

I bought a bunch of these boards there ok but the pot sucks I'v replaced the pot with a 200 k ohm pot be gentle taking the pot off or you'll take the solder off to and wont be able to solder a wire on (use a pin to take of pot )

Posted on another thread..:)

My passthru with the Russian on it, fell between the couch cushions and when I sat it fired for a long long time. Wife came to tell me something was burning and I told here it was coming from outside. Finally my thigh started getting hot.

Let it cool down ck the hemp it was dry but still there.

After cooling the coil still read 1.3 ohms and the little LM2596 still fired it. Clic pic for video.

Holy crap BJ!...:toast: to your wife's nose..., I'm conflicted as to the shear tenacity of these regs...yup, she kept firing right up till my house burnt down or, hmm, sometimes I'd appreciate it if this $1.50 reg knew when to call it a day and blow already...

Yep, tough little buggers...Think I have only been able to pop one in all the years and it was one I used to dry burn all my coils.:)

will the LM2596 work with a single 18650 sony vtc4? or dp u have to build with a dubble?

The LM2596 is a stepdown regulator you get out 2.5 volts less than you put in at its highest setting. So a 3.7v battery will only put out 1.2v. Not enough for what we use. 7.4v gives you a max of almost 6v.:)
