It seems like freezing is most people's response for every situation when parts gets stuck. But, what do you do when freezing doesn't doesn't work? Some people say leave it in the freezer over night or run it under hot tap water, soak it in boiled water, use rubber gloves and wet towels for grip, I've even heard of spraying it with compressed air:unsure:.

But, what do you do when all else fails?

I imagine it depends on what is stuck and to what.

I've never frozen anything. If rubber gloves didn't pry it apart, a vise grip did. Just recently another forum member mentioned she uses the grippy side of a mouse pad. It works great.

My lock ring is stuck in the fully closed position on my brand new POS Fogger v4.1 which I have never been able to use since it always seizes up somewhere for no reason at all, and definitely not from over tightening and not from carelessly cross threading.

I tried a rubber grip and that doesn't always work for smaller parts, I never heard of using a mouse pad, but have used an old school rubber grip, that works at time, I guess it's about the same as a mouse pad.

As the wise Ocelot inquired. What is stuck to what?
Heat makes metal expand and cold make it contract.
If you just got carried away and screwed your tank with 510 thread onto you mod you just want to try and heat the section of the mod the tank is screwed into.
If you can't get the base off your ProTank stand the threaded end on ice or heat up the section the base screws into.
if you really got carried away and crossed threaded something then mechanical means of removal are required.

If all else fails lean real close and whisper "piece of crap I'm going to replace you with a Provari"
I used to tell my old Chevy truck I was going to replace it with a Ford and it magically fixed itself.

If you can see the airflow ring in the picture it is stuck in the closed position.

Ice is better. The gum gets brittle and cracks right off

Good to know!

Interestingly, I Googled around and most of the problems with the Fogger ring is it being too loose. I've never seen a Fogger in person, which is a drag since I love puzzles and am often good at solving them.

I just went and looked at an exploded view of the Fogger v4.1 Are you sub-ohming and getting the coil base hot causing it to seize? If it has never moved then I'd guess bad threads have seized on each other from being originally put together when it was made.

I've read about it being too loose and seen some people mention they had the AFC ring and chimney get stuck, but no one has a solution that I can find.

Is it just the knurled part that turns or is it a band?

Just the knurled part.

To make a long story short:

Got it Wed night.
Had shop build it 0.5 ohms/instant gurgle/flooded and leaked couldn't use it
Took apart 2 pieces of chimney stuck together and to base
Went back to the shop/owner got the chimney unstuck to the base, couldn't get the 2 part chimney unstuck
Gave me a new chimney/he put it back together
Got home and the lock ring was stuck constantly including the ring that holds bottom of tank
Ring that holds bottom tank fixed with freezing
AFC ring not budging

The AFC ring moved in the beginning, and didn't take a single hit before trying to turn the AFC ring and only tried 5 hits the night before.

This probably isn't helpful, but I'm wondering...if you unscrew the the screw at the bottom, does it release the posts on top of the deck? I was looking at some pictures and I'm curious how much it can be disassembled.

I haven't tried to adjust the post, I been too occupied trying to get this crap to work and driving back to the shop, I went there 4x and this POS doesn't want to work.

I would hold the base right under the ring with pliers and use a micro torch to focus the heat at one spot on the ring. The ring will expand and then you should be able to turn it with another pair of pliers. If the ring cools and stops turning repete. If the internal threads are screwed you might have to find the right spot and leave the ring stuck there. The heat is going to trash the color.

I didn't mean adjust the post, I meant remove it. If you can't get the ring to turn, maybe you can get it off.
