I am concerned what type of metal is being covered or perhaps concealed by silver plating springs. Imeo always said plating is never good since it's no use and wears off.
Again, how is asking a question about an unannounced change showing animosity? Perhaps where you live, questions are frowned upon. I present to you the Cold War outcome as evidence on the wisdom of that practice.
We're not attacking imeo, for God's sake. He said plating is irrelevant. Maybe he changed his mind. He's allowed to do that. No, he's an engineer, he's required to do that, when data and evidence suggest it is the best course of action.
When did imeo being wrong and changing his mind become anathema? Even Zeus rolled the wrong maiden in the wrong haystack every once in a while.
I'm a trader. I'm wrong all the time. It's part of the job. How you handle being wrong separates the good trader form the bankrupt trader. I took the wrong position in Canadian dollar the last couple of days. I took my losses, and moved on to the next trade. Big wins, small losses, Bob's your uncle.
Same goes for engineering. You try something new, if it doesn't work, you fix it, and move on.
And, to repeat: I couldn't care less about the spring, the alloy, the plating, blah blah. My justGG works great, and it would probably work just as well for me with the new spring. This isn't about the topic at hand, it is about this attitude that imeo must be defended at every turn.

I have no use for yes-men in my job. I treasure and reward those who catch my mistakes, and poke holes in my opinions and my decisions. I would be homeless and destitute without them. They are more useful, they help me make money, and above all, they are more interesting.

I haven't had my JustGG for more than a week, but my experience thus far has been fantastic. I see no reason to change it in any way. I've heard there are a few upgrades for it, but again, as well as it's working for me, I see no reason to change the design Imeo has spent time creating.
Let's put it this way, if these so called upgrades REALLY were necessary, I'm sure it would have built that way. As my name suggests, I modify everything I get... Except my JustGG.

Mine got modified by the side of the road when my button vibrated apart on the Harley. Took spring out of clicky pen, cut it off and installed it & on down the road. Worked along time too until next order from Vasillis came. Does it work better with the new one-I don't know as it still Vapes great.
Now that's funny! I've had parts fall off my Ultra Classic due to the same thing, but not that, at least not yet!
And that may never happen. I unfortunately am selling my Harley to pay medical bills. But, such is life. If I end up kicking cancers ..., I'll celebrate by buying a new one!

Looking for an ultrasonic cleaner mainly for my JGG but even for my Ithakas. Any recommendations? Furthermore, do you use plain water or a particular solution (keeping in mind that I mainly interested to clean my brass parts)?
I use a simple but enough effective one.
Warm water (not very hot), 10-15 drops dishwashing liquid and 5X3 minutes (15min)
But not for my brass items. It's for cleaning, not for polishing

But i use Brasso for my brass items and as you you know Brasso also cleans and polishes!
You can put brass items in the ultra sonic cleaner and it's cleaning perfectly.
Be carefull NOT to put vinegar with water. It'll change the colour of brass.

I put vinegar one time. Screwed up all my brass tubes. They bled red and weird colors

If you use vinegar in 10% solution for a dip not a soak you can get pretty nice results. You must rinse after dipping the brass.

How often do you clean yours? Just got mine last week so I'm not due yet I think. I keep an eye on the positive post for juice and clean that almost daily. Mine is SS, so no brass except the contacts.

Once a month I do white gasoline clean (zippo fuel) to the
Threads.
The brass mod I polish once a week,shine them new for the wife.
She vape only on morning and evening (not in work) so the brass hold longer for her.
I use only SS daily,but now I will use one brass for home practice
