Hey all,

I just got my first Vamo 2 + first Kanger ProTank and I'd like to give my first impressions.

My original setup was a eGo C with iClear 16 Clearomizers.

Vamo 2:
I am using it in VW mode with my ProTank, and I have the watts set to 7.0, and I'm using Indigo e-Juice at 24mg/ml.
THE TASTE DIFFERENCE AND VAPOR PRODUCTION IS ASTONISHING! I'm VERY impressed. The device itself is kind of big and heavier than I expected, this is what I'll be vaping from at home. For going out and about I'll stick with the eGo C...it's much less noticeable in the pocket.

Kanger ProTank:
I did a boat load of research here on ECF, and watched a ton of YouTube Videos (PBusardo, you are fantastic) before I got this and I heard a lot of folks use the term "airy". I had no idea what that meant, but since I've now tried the ProTank, let me explain: Airy just means that when you inhale, there is not a lot of resistance, you are getting a good deal of AIR on your draw. Duh, but I didn't know.
The build quality is good, and my e-juice tastes REALLY good. Some people complained that the flavor was muted. I do not find this to be the case.

I'm SO excited to be vaping and off the stinkies. Four days and counting.

Happy vaping!!

I also have a vamo V2 and I just bought a protank after using vivi novas for several months. I also bought new juice when I bought my protank and I really don't like it. The taste is not there. I am not 100% sure if this is a protank issue or a juice issue. I can't try my new juice in my nova to compare as its cinnamon (the whole reason I wanted a protank). The juice does taste muted to me (more of a clove flavor than cinnamon). I really am not fond of the cool, airy vape on the protank as well. Sometimes I am not even sure if the vamo is on when I vape from the protank. I could get used to it though if the taste was there. I should receive my evod heads in the mail today to try (I have read that these can be used in the protank and lessen the airyness (yup..I just made that word up). I think once I get those, I will try a non-cinnamon juice in my protank and see how the flavor compares to my novas.

I'd be very interested to know if the heads from the Evod work since I'm about to get a protank. I have a bunch of Evod heads around and if I could save money by only purchasing one kind of head it'd be awesome!

I have the same set up ProTank and Vamo I did order extra flavoring for a particular juice I fancy that was a bit muted and I'm happy with the results. I do like the bottom coil, easy draw and the cool vapor is nice now that it is approaching Summer. I do find that I am enjoying quitting the Stinky's because I'm distracted with tinkering, tuning and I do not have to go outside in to the heat.

Evod heads do work and tighten up the draw. I still found the protank to be a bit muted on the flavor even with the evod head. I experimented and rebuilt a evod head(2-3 pcs of 1mm syl wick and 32 wire) and made the wicks longer on it and it has awesome taste and vapor production. It is a slight hassle to get the wicks back in it on a refill but it is well worth it. Just my :2c:

I have used the both the protank and evod heads on the protank with vamo. The evod ones due have a slightly tighter draw. I however recently have been using the Protank heads, but I rebuild them with a 5 wrap 32g kanthal with a single 3mm piece of silica, and the results have been great so far with flavor and vapor, though my tank disappears more quickly now :O

Do you know if the Kanger T3 heads are a beast to rebuild? Also, what is this about Mesh wicks and stuff? I'm a DIY kinda guy but I'm kinda loopy after playing with a new head and vaping WAY too much all at once testing (Was never a smoker and just started vaping strong Juice to help my girlfriend quit as she is terrible at going it alone.) If they are rebuildable I'll go fishing in my desk side waste bin and retrieve them! They weren't really burnt out, I just started getting a lot of Juice coming into the mouthpiece on two different coils and assumed tossing them was the best since they were not listed as rebuildable and I bought 30 of each head. No idea why the juice started being sucked in nut it was a mess and I just tossed them.

I realize this is probably not the best place to be asking and kind of hijacking the thread, my apologies to the OP!

Thanks for any replies!

Well nevermind, I found one I had thrown away and realized the top tube comes off with ease. The wire was burnt pretty badly despite priming it and only using it for two tanks.. It tested previously at 2.6 ʊ and I never ran it over 4.1V which is like 6.XX some watts so not sure why it looks so burnt, oh well, it's easy to replace thanks to you guys!

I had the same experience. When I go out I use my ego.

Only us the mod when driving and at home. I asked some friends what they thought about the mod with the protank on it. What really sticks in my mine was a comment of a falas (bedroom play toy), and when I looked at it, I could see where they were coming from.

My S/O got home last night and said it looks like some kind of flute...hahaha

Great setup, writeup and welcome to ECF. I'm new as well, though I've been vaping for a few months and have a lot of equipment. I like the protank, and it is very airy. I prefer the evod draw and find it has the best combination of draw, flavor, vapor, TH, ease of operation and cost compared to many other clearomizers. As far as muted tastes go, sure it's muted compared to several other non-clearomizer devices, but the Kanger products have excellent taste compared with most other clearomizers imho. Bottom coil versus top coils do change the draw, the temp and how you vape the device. Personally, vivi novas get old having to constantly tilt the tank to make sure the wicks are saturated and avoid dry hits (known as position independence or dependence). Not a problem with the bottom coils. The Protank now shares the same replaceable heads/coils with the new T3/MT3, perhaps saving that maligned device. I personally like the new head/coil on the T3 now. The Evod heads/coils have worked fine for me in the Protank and T3/MT3, though the longer Protank/T3 heads/coils haven't work too well for me with the evod. Again, thanks for the review and welcome to ECF!
