...and figured I should pop in to introduce myself. Also note that I'm not very good at "selling" myself and usually avoid these, but I'll give it a go ;).

Started vaping about 6 weeks back, although it seems like it's been longer because I did a ton of research first. I'm kinda one of those "information sponges", and once something piques my interest I just go all-in and find out as much as I possibly can. Anyway, I smoked for about 21 years and tried nearly everything: patch, gum, lozenges, all sorts of stuff. Nothing worked, and I resigned myself to probably being a smoker for the rest of my life. But after hearing more and more about vaping, I decided to look into it; coincidentally around the same time my grandfather even suggested it, because his wife's son and daughter-in-law had switched.

Cut to a few weeks back and I placed my first order with Rocky Mountain Vapor for a couple eGo C-Twists, some EVODs and a few other things. Within a week or so, I noticed my sense of smell was coming back and I could taste things much better. My clothes and hair don't stink anymore, and my breathing is noticeably better. And no more "lung goobers"! Aside from a couple questionable juice choices (one does not expect a flavor called "Arabian Nights" to equal "nasty gag-inducing patchouli", but live and learn...and take full advantage of free tastings ;) ), I'm thoroughly happy that I switched.

Speaking of switching, I noticed a funny thing...For the first week or two, I'd still smoke the occasional cigarette. Then it was down to one or two a day, and then half of one in the morning and half before bed. And then a couple days ago, I realized I hadn't had any tobacco cigarettes in almost two weeks! I didn't plan it that way at all, and I still have a bunch of cigarette "stuff" at my disposal (I was making my own), but it just happened on its own. I really do think that vaping helps massively with the hand-to-mouth thing, and that's something things like patches and gum can't address. Friends and family have also commented on how I don't smell like stale smoke anymore, which is nice for the ego.

I'm now rocking an MVP 2.0, which I totally love (except I lost that beauty ring and it's driving me nuts!) and haven't even gotten to go into the yellow yet; the battery life is impressive! Current toppers of choice are ProTank 2's w/ airflow bases, although next week I'll be ordering a Kayfun Lite Plus v2 and some Kanthal. I'm not interested in the cloud chasing sub-ohm stuff or mech mods, but I'm looking forward to stepping up to the Kayfun. I like tinkering with electronics projects and things like that, so I think I'll have fun with the rebuildables. I'd also like to get into DIY juice for myself, but that won't be for a little while.

Oop, almost forgot: I registered with CASAA a couple weeks back and have been getting involved on that front as well. I've read a lot of the research papers and watched some of the talks given by Drs. Farsalinos, Pelosa, Siegel, etc. I've tried to bring myself up to speed as much as possible in regards to the scientific data and current political goings on.

Hi and welcome to the ECF , since you've done your research getting in to RBA's with the Kayfun is a very smart move , one that I try to encourage as much as possible , it'll be a good thing to be as self sufficient as possible in case the SOB's at the FDA pull the plug on us , they ain't likely to ban cotton and Kanthal .

Welcome, catdumpling! Heh. Nice nic, BTW. Sounds like you are well on your way and doing just fine. Good for you. Finding juice you really like is really the hardest thing about vaping, and it is almost impossible to give any good advice in that regard. I found breaking things down into broad flavor profiles like fruits, bakery, candy, beverage, etc. really helps. I really like strawberry for example, so combining that with another flavor profile I like like bakery, I come up with strawberry cheesecake. It isn't much, but I hope it helps...

    Oh yeah, and this?

I still have a bunch of cigarette "stuff" at my disposal.

Dispose of it then! :vapor: Again, best of luck to you, and welcome to ECF!

Welcome and congratulations on making the conversion from analogs to e-cigarettes. If you have a vape shop in your town/city they probably have a variety of beauty rings you can purchase.

I've got several fairly close to me, but there's only one that I visit often (I really need to change that, since there's a few all within a mile of each other!) I've got a couple of regular eGo beauty rings, but the MVP has its own "large" beauty ring and I'd prefer that when I start using things as large as the Kayfuns. Oddly, even though most places carry the MVPs and other Innokin stuff, hardly any of them have the actual MVP-specific beauty rings! Health Cabin carries them though (and they take PayPal), so I'll have to put together a little order from them one of these days.

I've got a good idea of what I like in a juice: I prefer mostly fruit flavors, and some bakery stuff (can't stand menthol or mint.) The local place that I've been getting most of my juice from has a few flavors I like, but most of their stuff is overly sweet or not quite well-though-out, if that makes sense? In other words, some flavors seem like they could be good, but they thought it was "good enough" and just gave up halfway. Their strawberry-kiwi is currently what I vape the most, their ruby red grapefruit and key lime are both spot-on, but most of the rest are mostly just meh (with a couple of utterly awful ones; most of their berry flavors taste like cough syrup.) They only have a couple bakery flavors but they're too heavy on the cinnamon and have a really weird aftertaste. Supposedly their Apple Pie is their most popular flavor, but I can't for the life of me figure out why!

What I'm currently really trying to find is a good peach, but not the super-sweet type that tastes like those Haribo peach rings. From what I've gathered "natural" peach is kind of a hard flavor to get right, so the search continues.

Oh yeah, I realized today that I need to get rid of all that tobacco stuff. I've got almost a pound of loose tobacco and a couple boxes of filter tubes left. Part of me wants to give it to a friend because I don't want to toss $40 worth of stuff, but another part of me thinks I shouldn't support anyone else's habit. I'm having a mental argument with myself about ethics.

Hmmm...A ceremony with family and friends in the yard with a gas can and a match? Used motor oil works well actually ;)

Hi Cat and welcome. Your story sounded a lot like mine. I lurked on the forums for weeks if not months reading/researching, and then took off running and experiencing good, better, and better still. I think it will get even better->amazing as my coiling skills improve. I do love my menthol though and had to start DIY to find a no-tobacco flavor menthol that was strong enough. With your writing skills you will be an asset to CASAA and ECF. My first RBA arrived this week and I finally got it up and running last night. I purchased the Hcigar replica of Taifun GT. So far so good with enough cotton through the sleeve to keep it from leaking out the air-hole. Second re-wick stopped the leak. It looks funny being so top heavy on my MVP2, but it tastes GREAT. Oh yeah, I was going to tell you a place to find the beauty ring for the MVP2. Try KidneyPuncher.com MVP Beauty Ring - Kidney Puncher

Hope you can find a peach ejuice you like. My fav fruit vape is a mix of watermelon and peach but mine is a sweeter vape. Happy vaping!

New here as well and it sounds like I did about the same thing. Lurked here for a couple of weeks and registered a month ago when I got a G6 and quit smoking. Upgraded to an evod about a week later and thanks to the endless supply of info on this site have been vaping on a new Provari mini and Nautilus for a little over a week now. Guess I got a little obsessed.

No regrets though, best money I've ever spent as I haven't touched a real cigarette since ( smoked for 30 years) nor have any intention to again.

Also have got two RBA's and an RDA on the way....can't wait. This forum has cost me a ton:)

Hope you don't mind tagging onto your thread...figured it was as good a place as any to get started.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for their wealth of knowledge.

My Freedom Smokes has a really nice peach! I've tried it and after letting it steep a while, it came out pretty close to actual peach. Then I messed it up by putting Apple Crumble in my tank, not washing it out after gagging on it, then putting the peach in.... So now I have peach oatmeal .

Anyways, congrats on the switch and welcome! I'm fairly new, but always lurk around to learn some new stuff

The FDA might put vaper shops out of business but they can't stop vapeing. They'd have to ban power tools, baking and candy making, farm supplies, and God only knows what else. The supplies for Vapeing are everywhere.

    Keep on vapeing!

Welcome aboard! It does have an effect like that on most people. I was the same way over a year ago. But the tank choices sucked so I was dripping onto a 306 atomizer lol. Technology has come a far way in the vaping world. My main weapon of choice now is a kayfun on top of a Hana modz dna20. Love that thing.
You can't go wrong with the kayfun and MVP though. Solid performer. Although you might end up going for something that delivers a bit more power later on. Some do and some don't however. My wife still uses an MVP to this day.

Anyway, welcome again and enjoy a new life of being smoke free.

CASAA is a great place to jump in and find out about all that is going on with the FDA. Kudos to you for really getting involved :D
