Seems like a decent replacement method for preventing nicotine cravings for normal cigarettes. Hopefully, this will break the cigarette thing for me as well as not creating a new addiction to vaping.

Positive signs so far ... first morning after using an ecig ... didn't feel any craving s for the morning nic hit and it was over an hour before I did the nicotine thing ... unusual for me.

Personally I think it was the relief from reduce carbon monoxide that did it ... just had more energy and didn't need to push myself into action with nicotine.

I'm hopeful this will be a positive step in stopping normal cigarettes .. and of course vaping as well as it is certainly nowhere near as addictive as normal cigarettes.

Seems like a lot of people on this forum switched to vaping quite easily ... almost without effort or intention.

Welcome to the forums, Vapture! It is amazing at how much better you feel after giving up the ciggies. It also just keeps getting better! Some people do find the switch much easier than others, but YMMV. Keep remembering all of the positive things that come with quitting smoking and find a liquid and a PV that is going to work the best for you. Finding a great flavor to vape may be key in this, but it all works together. The best of luck to you!

Yep, switching to vaping is a lot easier than going cold turkey. I don't know how many people stop vaping though, as most people on the forum view it as a change to vaping not a way to quit nicotine totally and it turns into a fun hobby :)

There seem to be more people who drop to 0 nic after a few months though as they enjoy the act of vaping and the taste of the juices.

How unusual is it to feel a bit YUCK after giving up cigs and switching to vaping?? I've had a headache for 2 days and I just feel kind of yuck,,,,,,,last night I was a bit dizzy,,,,,,,,might be a total coincidence, though. I suppose giving up those 4 thousand poisons might be sending my body for a loop though LOL.

thx for the welcome ...

vaping does seem much more relaxing and enjoyable than normal cigarettes are ... so maybe something I'll do for a while .. if it seems more like a pleasure rather than an addiction ... Still has to be better than smoking at least for a while.

Maybe vaping is just better on pleasure than smoking period ... maybe that's the reason for the easy switch everybody seems to have.

I'm in canada .. which makes it harder to get the nicotine for vaping ... though I lucked out for now.

The first e-cig I bought was in canada. However I didn't check about the nicotine thing at the time. Didn't make sense why someone would sell ecigs without nicotine available... what would be the point.

Anyways I stuck with it for a day burning thru batteries and cartridges quite quickly ... surprised I didn't pop a lung trying to suck out the non-existence nicotine. Wasn't until I got unreasonably anger at a person at gas station for taking too long ... that I finally clued in and checked to see if the ecig actually had nicotine. Long story short ... burning cotton is NOT a good nicotine substitute.

What I'm using now ... actually has nicotine ... big difference ... ... ... gas station attendant is still pi$$ed at me though. Maybe he should try nicotine to calm down a bit :)

I am now two weeks in and I felt crappy for the first three days. Make sure you are drinking tons of water it really helps. I never thought about the other chemicals in cigs when I first quit. Then after the first day of feeling a little crappy it hit me that my body was going through withdrawl. After day 3 I was good to go! Good luck!

Hi and welcome to ECF.... and congrats. Some had it easy while some didn't but we all persevered and got there.

That's a big step in itself. I found that after vaping I couldn't stand the dry hay- like hit of an analog- a moist vape much better. Some quit immediately, some take a bit and some wake up one morning and forget to have an analog.
After 5 posts wait 1 hr and request a Cdn vendors list

You are not alone and not losing your mind. I also had to eat tums for the first three days. Not too sure what that was about but I know it was related some how. I have also read that too much nicotine can cause headaches. Not sure if that is true or not but maybe you are vaping too much at too high of a dose. What level of juice are you using?

Congrats to you. My wife and I are on day 4 being free of analogs. Feeling better everyday!
We are also loving the fact we can vape in the house. We never smoked in our house.
We are no longer fighting the Mosquitos outside like we were when we went outside to smoke.
And now that the tempatures here in Dallas are hitting the 100's we are no longer sweating out there.
Bug free, sweat free, smoke free, what more could we ask for?!
Keep up the good work!

Well ... it was good while it lasted .... Only managed to get a starter kit and 6 cartos in my first try ... just trying them out. Being in canada. makes getting the nicotine for vaping a pain in the ..... --- So, ran out of the nicotine ones for now, probably be five days for another supply arrives ... so likely end up using normal cigs for a while.
