thats what it is looking like. Not sure how returns work at the naval base with these being a "germ hazard" but I'll run over and return this in a few hours if these issue persist. I'm turning my sights towards nautilus Mini/istick 30 watt. Haven't looked too closely into yet but I will be now.

Well, one nice thing about the EVOD tanks was that they were easy to clean. Clean the tank real good, ditch the used coil-head, pretend to be stupid and hope for the best.

There are two form-factors. A box style or a tube style. Most go with box style. To me, a tube style with a topper seemed like a light saber in my hand. I switched pretty quickly.

For the box mods, there are permanent internal batteries like a phone or there are removable batteries that you charge in a separate charger. Different people just have there own preference.

Up top in a post are some good places to buy online. I have places bookmarked. I don't think any one website sells everything and cheaply. Often I end up buying different things from different places.

Good luck

Welcome to the board, and gratz on making the switch. Most of us gave up on the eGo batteries too, and precisely because they're annoying. Your problem sounds like a bad charger to me, but do try to return it. And I'll go +1 on the iStick/Nauti combo.

If the charger is red before the battery is attached it means it's charging
or thinks it is. It's either a defective charger or a dirty charger connector
causing a resistive short. Take a small brush and make sure the contacts
on the charger are clean. Maybe some pocket lint or packaging material
is lodged in the connector.

BACK! Just returned from returning the EVOD starter kit. They took it back without any objections or questions. Apparently they get these returned quite a bit. Defective charger, as it was. So I'll be spending the evening browsing over deals and kits to find whats going to work best for me, as well as what has worked best for others. Thank you all for your input, I will sticking around as much as I can!

Cheers all!

RabidPatrick - Glad to hear you got the situation resolved, well the first part anyways. As others have stated, most of us began with this style of battery/tank and then soon realised that there were better options available, for not much more money. It sometimes surprises people when they first set out that they're being asked to pay $X amount for a setup, but if it works for them, then it's priceless. As you've had an unfortunate start to your journey, that is a lesson learned. When you make your next purchase you already have learned that lesson and can hopefully move on to a better experience. Every ex-smoker that becomes a vaper is a life saved!

Great to hear! Yeah Evods are low end and most ecig equipment has low QC issues.

Many here have quit on them tho.

    Have fun

The Evod is a good starter. Back in the day I used to recommend them often as a beginner kit. Just sounds like a bad charger. I've had a few go bad over the years, but never had a bad one out of the box. Sucks. It sounds like you've tried all of the right solutions. Of course it is possible the green light is out but I've never had that happen.

So, I'm sure this is moving well past an introduction post and into a "Help me hurrdurr" thread. So far I've looked at the Innokin Cool Fire IV Plus starter kit(Innokin Cool Fire IV Plus Starter Kit) and the Smok Micro One TC starter kit (Smok Micro One TC Starter Kit) as well as a few others and run into the "THIS IS FOR ADVANCED USERS ONLY" warnings. How advanced and does it take a great amount of time to learn to correctly use one of the advanced ones?

Another one that caught my eye using the VapeCrawler site was Eleaf iStick TC40W ($39.75 Authentic Eleaf iStick TC40W 2600mAh Variable Wattage APV Mod w/ GS-Tank Clearomizer - 1-40W / 100-315'C/200-600'F / 3ml / 0.15ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping).
As of right now, I would prefer it to have an internal battery. I love the price of the Eleaf iStick from fasttech.com. It's half what I paid for the EVOD starter I returned.

Fasttech is located in China. They have good prices but shipping can take several weeks.

Rocky Mountain vapor has the iStick 40w for $35 and the GS Tank for $12.50. You can also use the coupon code "president" to get 25% off. Shipping is free over $14.

Personally, I would buy some 1.5 ohm dual coil replacement coils in case you don't like the TC coils.

    1.5 ohm coils

Eleaf GS-Air Replacement Coils 5 Pack - $9.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

Eleaf iStick 40W TC Kit - $35.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

Eleaf GS-Tank TC Set - $12.50 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

    Coils

Eleaf GS-Air Temperature Control Replacement coils 5 Pack - $10.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

gandymarsh, I don't know if you work for them or not, but my girl said to go with Rocky Mountain Vapor she loved the 25% off. My little bargain shopper. Ended up getting -

And went with your personal recommendation 1.5ohm coils. Thank you!

I know I'll be excited to show off pictures and maybe do an unboxing video, because there can never be enough of those!

I've had this problem too and have yet to find a solution or a cause. It's probably just easier to get a different battery. Also I wouldn't play with that center post too much. I know it's supposed to be a solution but I think it can actually make things worse. But if your careful and it works cool. But I never did it to fix this issue I use to do it when my battery wouldn't fire my tank. But I found an alternate solution to that which is less invasive.

    Haha:D

No, I don't work for them.

That's what's great about this forum. I find good advice about lots of things here.

Stick around and you will too.

Now when I go check out the

Comes up empty. I hope that doesn't effect the order I put in and paid for last night. That would be unfortunate.
It's the weirdest thing. I went there looking for it again and it's not listed anywhere on the site. Usually, if something is out of stock, it's listed but says out of stock.

I would think that, if your order went through, you should get it. If they don't have any, they should let you know via email.

They do have the 30w in stock for the same price.

Take it back for a refund before you can no longer do so. The EVOD kits are very old tech. If you like the EVOD form-factor; I would look at something like this:

    ENDURA T18 | Vaporizer - Innokin

If you don't care about the form-factor there are many, many options available. Many of them already mentioned in this thread.

I have one of these kits and they are wonderful! Flavor production is awesome and it uses a usb cable to charge. I use mine when out and about because it's small. The coils aren't that expensive, and it's a top fill tank, which makes life a lot easier.
