So, hi

I've been reading this forum for some time. In fact, I purchased an e-cig in April. I've had several goes at using it but never really that keen until I ordered 5x5 Mg bottles of different flavour e-liquid (Banana, Vanilla, Minty Choc, Cherry & Orange). I find these so much better than the tobacco flavours...

In the meantime I went to see my GP and got a prescription for Champix which I started taking on 22 December because I really do want to give up smoking. Then on 27 December I went down with flu so decided not to smoke for obvious reasons and have been vaping with my new liquids. Now, I don't know what to do about the Champix - should I stop taking it? I have an appointment with my GP next Tuesday but don't see the point in keep taking the Champix if I am going to continue to vape...what do yo think?:)

Welcome!!

...and the FDA thinks flavors are to lure children. Really? A lot of us smokers didn't really love the taste of cigarettes to begin with.

I am not a doctor, but I've been on Chantix twice (that's what it is called here in the U.S.). There is no harm in vaping and taking chantix, same way there is no harm is smoking and taking chantix. I agree with you though. I don't see the point of taking the medication if you want vape, unless you are trying to get off nicotine.

Glad the fruity foody flavors work for you! I have to just use them as treat flavors - I usually set up a second PV with drip tip and that's for treats. But I can't use fruity/foodies at full time vapes - I need at least a somewhat a tobacco-ish flavor. The only exception is chocolate vape since there is cocoa in lots of analogs i have loved.

I tried everything to quit smoking except Chantix as I'm truly scared of it. Somehow the terrible dreams and the overpowering urge to off myself are not appealing to me. Vaping however has done the trick for me and I'm very happy to be off analogs. Just talk to your GP and make sure it's ok to stop taking the medication suddenly. Best of luck!!

Be well

Hello & welcome Squibbles.

I've never tried Champix as my doctor wouldn't prescribe it to me due to my history of depression - so many bad side effects from it. So IMHO, I'd stick with vaping but just check with your GP that it's OK to come off Champix in case there are any withdrawal symptoms.

Dear Everyone who replied...Thanks so much for your encouraging replies. It would seem that Champix (Chantix) is not popular on this forum! Seriously, I began to wonder if I was doing to right thing when I got the drugs from the pharmacy and went home to read the patient information leaflet. No sleep again last night and now I've had enough of all the side-effects. Now a confirmed vaper!!:toast:
