I should be using an rba but that's a different story. apparently kanger got smart. the old coils lasted weeks. the new coils first few batches also lasted weeks. now new packs the coils last me a day. every third or so coil is a dud. I say kanger got smart because they want us to buy as many as possible. quite frankly I think it sucks. for newbs you might want to look at aspire now.

I have no ADV, seemingly no ability to find one so I have 15 mini protank 3s with different flavors, those not yet worthy of a kayfun. My updated Kanger coils last a good long time, no duds yet. Also love the vape from my Aerotank Mega, had it 3 weeks of fairly heavy use & no problem with the coil yet. I think Kanger's new tanks rock. on the other hand, my Nautilus coils have been horrible, holding out hope for the new BVCs I ordered the other day from 101vape. We all have different experiences with different vendors.

I hear you. I was getting one or two days on the single coils and that was OK with me. They cost me about as much as a can of soda or 3 real cigarettes – I never considered them as anything other than completely consumable and disposable because that’s what they are. I just got an Aspire nautilus mini with the BVC coil. I cleaned, dried, and put all my Kanger tanks away for a very rainy day. I don’t see myself using them again unless Kanger comes up with a coil that fits these tanks and can vape like the aspire BVC.
BTW – The aspire BDC coils never really worked well for me.

the bdc did not work good for me either. that's why I went back to kanger when the mega came out. I guess it does not matter the coils are still way cheaper than analogs.
the other issue I have with the mega is juice all over my hands when I change coils. I don't like the way the aspire looks but it does have some other things going for it. like you can see you didn't overfill it! plus it fills all the way. mega I had to use the ss to hide the half empty tank duh. I guess I will try the bvc now.

I have been doing this like four years already but I just don't dig rba's and drippers. I like everything in my life plug and play. I did order kayfun coils but I still prefer clearo's.

I am not great with fine motor skills, I'm a chiropractor, not a neurosurgeon for a reason, but I find building a RDA with Ekowool very easy. You might be underestimating yourself. I have a few, the Smok Catapillar has really big screw heads -- flat heads & big holes to feed the wires through. Really easy to build a dual coil, even easier to start with a single coil. It's also cheap, saw it somewhere for just over $9. Not sure where. Only complaint is it doesn't conduct heat that well, on my DNA 30 i need to hit it with 20+ watts. It's practically plug-and-play, a build lasts me a week. Might want to try it. The Ekowool holds a ton of juice, about 10 hits. Just a suggestion.

actually now that you mentioned this. it is very possible these are not oem coils I am getting. it is interesting that the longevity dropped like an anchor all the sudden. that, coinciding with a change in the packaging! man, if that is the case I am sorry I started this thread.

I honestly just like clearo's better. I know that is odd.

I sure hope the new upgraded dual coil replacements do not turn out to be duds. Just started vaping with the Aerotank Giant three days ago, and I am in love  Seeing how I like the vape so much, I just purchased a 5 pack of the upgraded coils tonight. I am primarily a RBA user, but I am so busy lately that plug n play has suddenly become very appealing to me again.

I mostly have RBAs but I keep a couple of ProTank2's around for when I'm feeling lazy or don't have time to rebuild. I didn't have much luck with the last batch of coils I got, either. For me, it's not worth the trouble of rebuilding them. When I had this issue with cartos awhile back, I just moved on to other things.

I was supposed to go on a roadtrip last weekend and decided that since my Kraken was being a pain I'd just buy an aerotank mega to put on my VS.

Now, I've used PT2s before, but the airflow left something to be desired. The AT seemed to be be the answer. Well, I filled it up and it didn't wick worth crap. No problem. Just rebuild it like my PTs which works fine.

Nope, can't get the damned thing to seat fully and because of that it won't screw in.

Any recommendations for an rba 16mm width ego batt size? Does such a thing exist? Was considering getting a couple protanks for my ego batt, now I'm not sure as I don't want to spend much on coil heads...

There's a kayfun mini. I've never used one but some folks seem to like them. Very long of course.

This has been my experience, as well. They're being "phased out" at several locations here in town because the quality control of their atomizer coils has plummeted big time. From what I recall, the drop in QC happened right before this past Chinese New Year, and has continued on a downward spiral since then.

I'm so happy I saved and collected used PT3 coils. I can rebuild them much better than the factory can build them.

The issue with the new coils is that they are not designed for use with high VG e-juice. It's just too thick for the internal wicking material to accept. It's been my experience that the basic 60/40 vg/pg mix works best in them.

When looking for replacements, ask if they carry the ones in the black box, not the white one. The black box usually has the old style version.

I moved on from clearos fairly quickly. They've always been troublesome to me. Either something was leaking, or it was gurgling, or it was burnt out. The issues would pop up at the wrong time too. I have a two hour commute, and I don't have the time to do much troubleshooting on the road. I'm into Kayfun style tanks now for the most part, but I was very happy with cartotanks as well. I would have stayed with cartotanks indefinately if I wasn't worried about FDA regulations and the taxation that's sure to come. I think that cartotanks are the least problematic toppers around unless you want to go into rebuilding.

I got my cartotanks from IBTanked. Pricier then Smok tanks, but not as pricey as Phiniac. All in all, I think they're the best combo of quality and price around. Nice, thick, glass tubes with metal endcaps. No need to worry about juice reacting with anything. I use Smok, single coil, cartos in them with two laser punched holes. Boge gives slightly better taste, but the filler in them is far more dense then Smok, and they take forever to prime. The Smok cartos lasted longer for me as well. Surevapes has bulk deals on Boge, and IBTanked has Smok for a good price. Single coil cartos can be cheaper then many of the dual coil heads for clearos if you know where to look.

Once a carto is primed and inserted into the tank, and the tank is filled, the cartos last quite a while. No dry burning between tank fills. Just top off the tank until the carto dies, and they die long, slow deaths. You'll get plenty of warning before one goes. I could usually run around 30ml of e-liquid before it's time to change one. It initially takes a bit longer to set it up due to priming the carto (drip juice until the filling can't hold anymore), but all in all they took up less of my time because there was less troubleshooting involved. Taste was also better to me than any dual coil clearo I've tried.
