Thanks for the support. This is my first tooth extraction since my wisdom teeth 30 years ago. I am such a wuss.

No you're not, extractions can be both scary and painful. I've had 2 in the past few years, and I was terrified, I had to "shop" for a dentist who would cater to my fear, and I was fortunate to find one who didn't make one move toward extraction until he was absolutely 100% certain that my mouth was completely numb, they "layered" numbing techniques on me, I think you could have probably hit me in the face with a brick and I wouldn't have felt a thing. Anyway, you're past the scary part now, you just need to rest and recover. Nutrition nutrition nutrition! I lived on warm mashed potatoes with butter for a few days, lol

Sorry you are dealing with that Dunder. I've had an extraction, a bone graft, and an implant, so I know what you are going through. :( Luckily, I have a great dentist who took great care of me.

+1 on banana pudding, it's only fitting! :D
(Nice one, Daventura! :thumb:)

And Hibi hasn't returned my email, either...

speedy healing, dunder!

and once again i'm thankful for our maxillofacial surgeon. i'm following in stone's footsteps atm - extraction and graft completed - and never had more than a light local. while he gives out a prescription for heavy-duty pain killers i've not once filled it. one motrin to get me through the first 6 post-operative hours and that's it. no change in eating schedule ;)
i have no idea how the man does it but it's been the same outcome for wisdom teeth extractions - 2 were impacted - and now that molar. cone beam scan is next on the list to make sure the implant is doable! :D

Dunder hope you recover soon. I have only had my wisdom teeth removed when I was a young teen and it was one of the worst things I ever went through.

Maybe it is Stoneface's fault?

That light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. Go into the light...go into the light!! :D

You know Dentists always shine those bright lights at you and nothing nice happens when you go into that light

Thanks for the well wishs. Tibs, I don't see how anyone could go through this without pain meds, you must be one tough son of a beotch. I got a bone graft too and in route to an implant. Hopefully I don't have to take out a second mortgage to get it done.
I did get pudding for this event, when it comes to pudding(or anything else) chocolate is always the answer. Banana sounds pretty good though right now. Last night a good friend brought over a Jamba Juice(peach pleasure) and it was wonderful.

I was 28 when I'd go to the dentist for the first time in my life. Only had two cavities. Shortly after tho one of my wisdom teeth started to fall apart. I let that go for about 5 years before I took action. I probably would have waited longer but if finally started to hurt so I had to have it pulled. So this past may it got yanked. I took two vicodin. I still have the other 18 that were in the bottle.

yup - topic went from kanger to pulling teeth to implants until we get canadian and brazilian delivery confirmations ;)
Well, yes, but you've got to forgive me for my part in that, because I actually thought that squares A and B were two different colors. (They are actually identical.. very hard for some of us to believe, but proven fairly easily.)

In a van ............down by the river
This coop is more painful than a root canal so it all makes sense.

Root canals hurt?

When?

You know they are removing the root and pulp, AND the nerve ending, right?

I love root canals, it means I never have to feel that tooth again.

In fact...I'm pretty sure I need 2 right now.
