A little break from the kanger blues. I posted this in another thread about my big purchase of an Ihybrid Pure. It is kind of a first impressions of my first hybrid.
Here goes:
I'd like to jump in here cause I just got my Ihybrid Pure and Love it. I purchased it from Elevated
vaping.
1x iHybrid Pure 18490 for $105.00 each
Subtotal : $105.00 USD
State Tax : $7.88 USD
Shipping : $0.00 USD
Total : $112.88 USD
They said they usually have free shipping but they had to up the price to keep the price in line with what faceless wanted. OK, I kinda understand. I was a little surprised at the tax, but, it just might be a California thing.
They announced on their facebook page that they would be up for sale at 9pm pacific time. It was so exciting, I have never been in a f5 war. When 9pm struck, I refreshed, pressed buy, checked out and got it. I had registered with them before hand and was logged in, so my info was there. I also had my visa number copied, so, I just had to right click and paste it. But then, oh no, they want the 3 digit number from the back of the card, I quickly input the 3 numbers. Man, what a rush. Order success on 7/31, received on 8/3.
It arrived in a regular flat rate box. It was tucked into a piece of foam pipe insulation. When I first saw it I thought it looked so nice, smaller than I thought it would be. The finish is very well done and it feels like tiny lines around the tube.
The bottom switch has perfect threads. The flat end has the ihybrid symbol engraved. The indents part of the switch look nice, but, to me they feel rather sharp. After using it for a while I really try to avoid that part. Maybe a light sanding in the near future.
The cut out of the power symbol is also very sharp. The center of the power symbol is kind of like a little tab. I am afraid that any bending there would kink it easily.
The drip tip hole fits most, but not my fancy siam mods ss drip tips that I won in one of Todd's Reviews contests. The hole was too small. Also, with the anodizing in that area I am afraid It will get scratched using different drip tips.
Now, What does the deck look like? After 20 minutes of stress and strain and one of those rubbery jar openers, I was able to get the top off. Even now, after applying juice to the orings, it is a bear to remove.
I wanted to take the glass off to clean it, but, after the fight with the top cap, I decided it looked clean enough to me. I won't attempt it until I have a spare in hand. I will also wear leather gloves. (I'm a safety freak).
The deck is simple. Center positve pin with phillips head screw. Two negative phillips screws with their wick holes. No extra fill hole if you run dual wick and coil. The negative phillips screws are in there pretty tight. I came close to stripping one even though I had the correct size phillips tip screwdriver. I set up 400 mesh and 34 gauge kanthal at 1.5 ohms. Took a while to pulse it in, but I am still a rookie. Filled the tank with my DIY Peachaloupe and it vapes beautiful clouds. Vapor Great, Flavor Great and Throat hit Great. It can only get better with experience.
I am still getting used to my first hybrid, bottom button mod. I am still trying to get used to the bottom button and how to hold it comfortably. I think I am catching on.
All in all, I am happy with my Pure.
