The heads have a habit of tasting like crap straight out of the package.

Try giving them a good rinse under hot water then either let them air dry or give them a few quick pulses to dry the water out of the wick.

Cut back on the volts to 3.8 and gradually work your way up to find the sweet spot. Just because the charts say something "should" be fine doesn't mean it will. Flavoring ingredients pg/vg mix play into it also.

This could work. and to make sure it's not your tank try it on another battery.

If your so easy to give up on trying to quit smoking, than you obviously don't want to quit that bad..

To the OP

i have the same problem... Heres the thing i bought new coils different vendor, same problem burnt gurgles airy no hit.
Put the same coils in a fasttech clearo, the kwx5 and its vape heaven.
I have gone through a dozen clearos with no luck except for one and its a fast tech clearo. Go figure.

Now cartotanks is where its at. The only bad carto ive had was a kanger.
I use ibtank and smok dct, give one a try, you might just love it. I do.

Or the kwx5 from fasttech.

For me, no more kanger products.

Good luck!

Sorry you are having so much trouble. Put the little rubber hat back the way it came. Is that what you turned upside down? I am talking the little piece that sits on top of the coils. If anything, those could be lifted a little to allow better wicking but I would not remove or invert it. How thick is your ejuice and how long do you wait before trying to vape on it. Have you toked on it without hitting the fire button to make sure the wick and coils have ejuice on them.

Just my 2 pennies.

You didn't get it to tight when you put in on the batt? Like an evod you want just snug not tight on the batt.

yep

So im sorry how i presented myself, after about 5 hours of trying to get a new item to do what its supposed too it wears on you. All in all im only out 25$ + about 4 atomizers so its not that big of a loss. Ill just stick with evods from now on. I just dont understand why it should take that much to get something to work that should work out of the box. I work a job that pays 7.25$ an hour. When I buy something I expect it to do its job. I wouldnt even mind if it didn't make my juices taste any better. I just wanted a tank, that I wouldnt have to screw with, that would do the job. I guess kanger isn't for me, and I will NEVER buy from them again. Im not ignorant, I checked what I could, tried something new to see if it worked, and im not impressed. Thanks for all your guy's help. Means alot, I just don't like the general vibe im getting from electronic cigarettes. "Buy item, tinker with it till the damn thing works". Not for me.

Well, I will tell you that I have vaped for over 3 years and personally have never had a problem with any of the protanks, or bdc heads. I guess I am just at a loss as to why you felt you needed to fiddle with it first before trying it out of the box to see if it worked?

Thats the thing, i got home, opened it up, stuck a atomizer in it, set my bat to 4v, for the 2.4 ohms, filled it with my favorite eliquid, worked great for about 3 tokes, after that all i got was a burnt taste, I tried waiting, letting the juice sit, cuz i thought maybe its just new, needs breaking in or something. Went back about 20 minutes later, tried again. Worked fine for the first 2 hits then i got the burnt taste. Took a slow drag, it started gurgling... i find theres a sweet spot to hitting it that makes it crackle, but it still has the burnt taste. After this i looked at youtube videos, read as many forum topics as I could and couldnt find a solution other than flipping over the rubber part on the atomizer. This worked for about 3 tokes, then it happened again. Came here, found the cotton wick solution.(Tore the heck out my fingers trying to get the atty heads off) Tried that, worked for about 5-6 hits, tasted bad mind you, then it really kicked in and worked great!, I was so happy, the next hit i took with a "sweet spot" strength toke, i got lung full of burnt. I dont know what else to tell ya. And i dont know the pg/vg of the liquid. Its epic juice 18mg airheads flavor. I also tried a 50/50 mix of menthol blueberry, which to my surprise the burnt taste could overpower the menthol.

Also to Mrs C, my battery died finally so I gave up.

One last edit, I only tighten it to where its giving pressure, then a 1/4 turn after that.

I had really bad luck with the PT2 on an ego twist as well. The airflow seemed to get cut off and it would flood horribly. Got the burnt taste you mentioned using 80% vg juice at first. I decided to try it on a nemesis since it has the airflow control built in and it's been working beautifully. I think the airhole location on the base of the protank is it's biggest problem. Fortunately the Aerotank has the airflow controller and they are apparently releasing one for PT2 and 3 as well. Might want to look in to that. Sucks you spent $30 on that tank though. I know what I said might not be much help but I thought I'd share my experiences with the PT2 so you know that there is still hope for it.

Once your battery is charged slap an evod on it get some nic in your system. Then try one of the coils you have washed out. Put the gasket back to it's original position. Make sure you give the wick enough time to get fully soaked and try it again. If you still have trouble with it don't spend 5 hours fighting with it before you ask for help. :) There are alot of PT users on the forum we will get you sorted out.

Actually, I think you may have just got it right. Since I don't own the kind of mod the OP is using, I didn't consider the airflow problem.

It can be very frustrating especially when you have been trying for so long. Don't give up on it just yet, but maybe for tonight.

Try again when your not ready to smash it into the wall :). Once you get it sorted out they really are a nice step up.

The guy at the electronic cigarette shop was eager to get it in my hands.... glad its a known problem also. Ill look into it, but im not liking the idea of dropping cash on a battery to see if it will work with a tank that I already dont like haha.
