Best tank I've tried yet but this thing guzzled 4ml of DIY 3mg Butterscotch in 2 hours last night.

stock 1.2Ω OCC @ 18.4w +1 boost on a P3

60ml of my 3mg DIY costs me under a Buck and a Quarter

How do you non DIYers afford this? Second mortgage?

Funny but I vape 3mg. DIY Butterscotch too...Tastes sensational in the subtank @ 20 watts. If I didn't DIY I'd have to shelf these new tanks altogether.

Straight butterscotch? Into diy myself and always looking for something tasty to make.

Yeah I buy the flavoring from MBV and mix it at 12-15% with 80/20 Vg/Pg... Lately Ive been adding 20% distilled water with good results. Sometimes I'll add a few drops of another flavor to a tankful just for variety. Blueberry butterscotch or raspberry butterscotch... It blends well with anything.

I stand by Japanese cotton my self. I have used the rayon, but test show the cotton is actually a little better at wicking (PBusardo has a test on youtube) but it may differ with different PG/VG ratios. I am currently using a 50/50. PB's test may be incorrect too...but my experience is better with organic cotton. I think it is easier to wick and work with. Again, just my experience. But also, that is what I use so much that I know all the ins and outs of it so it may just be a 'comfort' thing.

With the Japanese cotton pads I cut my strip then pull/peel off the outer layer on front and back. Nothing but fluffy goes in my coils! :)

EDIT: And, no, 'fluffy' is not my dog's name.

I agree. I think the clear performer in both tests Phil did was JC even in this very limited test. It was about time someone notable did it. I've run test tanks out by the hundreds some out six months in a more than year long more formal consumer rebuilding study. An important media emerged standing out above all of the rest and that was 3m's Nextel ceramic braided fiber insulation by a long shot even in the first few months. And so I started to write about it in the Fall of 2013. Few want to talk about this because NexT as with any efficient directional media like a hose requires a good spigot, a proper electrical wind. Eccentric builds aren't gonna cut it. You need some fundamental electronics to get good juice flow and airflow utilization with any linear wicking media.

But fore the curious…

JC is extremely linear and uniform in delivery which rayon is not for all types of juices. KGD goes in everything I have that I can commit the time to rebuild. Since I'm flavor sensitive that means about every two days. For all else it's 2mm or 3mm ceramic wick long term use (min 30 days). Why ceramic? High temperature stability. We cook on it for cryin' out loud. Doesn't scorch, doesn't burn and doesn't impart anything into the contents. What's more with proper maintenance/cleaning and use the flavor just improves, period. When you consider the science and what ceramic contributes to stabilizing vape temperatures, it's a hands down winner. Safe, efficient, controllable vaporization.

Can I tell you the most significant metric of my study DP? —> taste/flavor neutrality.

Good luck all.

:)

Yes, my e-liquid use has doubled or tripled from the old Mini Protank 2 that I used previously. As of right now I am using somewhere between 2-3 tanks per day (9 ml - 13 ml). This tanks has caused me to consider DIY juice. I haven't made the jump yet, but I am definitely considering it.

I actually get better flavor from my RBA builds than the stock OCC heads. Not that they are bad, but they cannot match a twisted 28 coil. And using a twisted coil is not as easy to put in the OCC. Just my experience. I can rebuild and/or rewick the RBA in half the time as rebuilding the OCC. But I have been using rebuildable decks for the past 2 years...so it just seems simpler to me.

I ordered the RBA for the Delta 2 also. I wouldn't use the factory heads from Joyetech. Unfortunately they gouge you for another $12 to get it. Thank you Kanger for the included RBA.

Thanks to your mention of a twisted coil I tried this today. I've been vaping on it most of the day and enjoying it!!! :)

Yes VJ, the Egrip RBA build deck is essentially a miniaturized Lemo build deck. The juice delivery from the tank is different though, as you know; juice holes with the egrip, juice channels with the Lemo and STmini.
I wish that the tank didn't have to be emptied to deal with the coil/deck. I think I want one...
Oh man, the horrid memories of burny grommets... That chased me away from the protanks, fast!!! Ick! By the time I got new grommets I had switched to carto tanks. I stayed with those for a long while too... I remember the day... I watched grimmgreens video on the nautilus bvc coils and I switched... since then so many new things to discover and try... and the debit card has yet to cool off since then...

Omg, my juice consumption has gone way up. Luckily for me, I had just bought a bit of juice... all at 50/50 and 18mg. I was able to almost triple my supply because I had to dilute it all to lower my nic. I just used vg to do it. Still have great flavor and extra vapor!!! However, soon I have to figure how to dilute my 24mg nic base and start making some new juice or I will go broke!!!

I am getting a juice build up on top of the tank right under the drip tip. Is anyone else getting this? It is not a huge deal since the juice seems to stay there and not getting in my mouth. I assume that there is an issue with the seals with the o-rings and I guess I will try the 2nd set that came with it. Just wondering if anyone else had the same issue, and if so what you did to fix it. Thanks.

No need to worry, this is a common thing in most attys. I have the same juice build up in my KFL+ V2 clone, my Lemo, and even my Protank mini 2. This is not an issue with the seals or the o-rings, so there's no need to change them. One thing i changed in my vaping routine, that "reduced" the juice build up and almost eliminated juice spitting and popping, was placing the drip tip on my mouth first, then inhaling at the same time i fired my mod. I used to fire my mod before putting the drip tip on my mouth, and i had juice bursting out of my drip tip. You can try this and see if it works.
