MacTech and Cigatron, you guys are my twisted friends! For me a twisted 28 is my sweetest coil. Usually spaced, but some I do touching/pressed. Not sure you would call it a true micro, but usually since I only have 4 wraps, I space them....and taste 'em.

Do you get spitting or temp over runs with twisted contact coils DP? I did on several occasions so I changed to spaced twisted. Problem disappeared however it takes a little more power to drive them up to temp. Once there though, the spaced twisted coils run as smooth as glass for however long I want to draw. Love that!

I had the Aspire Atlantis tank for a month but was watching a lot of reviews and they all, but one, said the Kanger subtank mini has better flavor. I got it Feb 23 but the 0.5ohm coil was just too hot and i wasn't pushing it wattage wise [had it at 10w]. I have a light tobacco/grape/honey 70vg/30pg - 3mg nic v-juice and i was getting a bad feeling in my chest and throat. I had a feeling i was getting a burning heavy feeling there. I was definitely getting great flavor but the physical effects didn't seem worth it. I have a iPV min mod.

I took a day off of the Kanger and went back to the Atlantis for a day. Today i primed and put in the 1.2ohm coil to see if that would help. So far i'm not getting the flavor from it at 17w.

I only started subohm vaping on Jan. 23rd with the Atlantis. I smoked for 40+ years. I wonder if my respiratory system can really handle subohm heat.

I feel somewhat compelled to do one, even if just for the kicks.

What size of kuro coiler to use? 3 mm?

Anywhere from 2.5-3.0mm should be fine with twisted. Good luck.

I cannot Mouth to lung with the sub ohm tanks...Seems the hotter coils need more airflow than I can provide with a traditional "Puff"... I've found that directly inhaling straight to my lungs with the airflow wide open produces the best results for me. I was a 33 yr smoker and I also find that heavy VG juices seem to stay settled in my lungs (it seems)...Perhaps my lungs have lost some of their youthful Elastic recoil . Lastly, I did a poor job of cleaning my mini when I got it and my initial tankful tasted atrocious. I dumped it out and cleaned it thoroughly before refilling and it was like night and day. YMMV- Dave

I was leaning toward black, but the purple intrigues me .. It is a cool [gender neutral] color without being like pink ! The baby blue is too bright. The clear will turn dingy in time from the juice. They don't show what the purple looks like. I like the purple of my Efest batteries.

The black would be cool with my setup of a black iPV mini and black Cherry Vapes cloud chaser drip-tip.

Joey, I got the black ones...looks great and would look really good with your setup. I have it on a black SXmini. I'll post a pic later today.

I agree. Sweet Vapes has the RBA section alone for sale, yet the Kanger site does not?? You would think they would make every piece available (glass, RBA, insulators, ect....), the atty's themselves seems like a given. Makes you wonder if the are in the process of a redesign.

I'm on the hunt for a set of 3 or more STMini RBA heads, Kanger told me to go to their webstore where they are not listed, you found them at sweet vapes and thank you for that, I'm on the mailing list if they are ever in stock

And for everyone else who posted recently on using twisted pair, I found 4-5 tensioned wraps around a 3mm bit work great on both 3x 30awg and 2x 27awg kanthal A1 drill spun wire..

Much better than single wire coils, also the 3mm coil seems to wick better than 2.5mm or 2mm coils, I haven't read a fraction of this thread yet but it is nice to see others having similar results.

Edit: My RBA is fully stock, no modifications to the juice channels and it's working great

Yes, actually the contact twisted coils were spitting. I still use them on lower watt builds, but for the last month just spaced coils at 0.5 (0.48) ohms at about 23-31 watts depending on if I am using the ST mini or the Delta2. Delta 2 uses higher watts on the same ohm coil. Not sure why. The Delta RBA is slightly larger than the ST mini. But you cannot beat the leg attachment system of the ST mini's RBA. IMO

I just started vaping 3 months ago. I can definitely tell when I need to rinse out my Nautilus Mini. Pop off the Grommet and give it a good rinse too.

*I am just about to buy one of these to go with a 50w iStick. What is the general consensus on the best Kanger Sub Tank, size? Which one works the best with their atomizer in it?

Thanks DP. Some really outstanding multi-wire users on ECF. Were a real inspiration way before I signed up.

I disagree with our dear brother on the facility of use for twisted; but with neither of you on the wonders of the add power cap and contact. A very rich vape indeed. Call it a micro by definition you'd need to be able to get the kind of connectedness of turns that super_X envisioned. Fall short of that and the less contact, the less the bennies from attempting coherence. I'd agree with cig on that. Better off spacing and using tension if you wish to get good loop symmetry. I've used both but gave up on spacing early on using twisted as too long to ramp up even w/o spacing. No doubt pretty like 2.5mm thick wick or this 7/64th...

Just been my experience the past 6/18 months that twisted lead par. is more productive, consistent and stable. And yes, they are real damned difficult to build...for a machine. Not a human. But a jig made par., leads hand twained, come on. Just easy enough for a dumble-thumbed codger like me.

Keep twisting, and vape on.

Give that 1.2 ohm coil a few days, I've found the flavor to be great after just a little break-in. I usually run the 1.2 ohm between 12-18w on my IPV Mini 2, after that it gets a little hot for me. It's hard for me to handle the .5 ohm for very long as well. By the way, how does that Cherry Vapes cloud chaser drip-tip fit your Subtank Mini? Any looseness or wobbling?

So I need to buy a 2nd Subtank mini (love it that much) but the first one I got was the clear insulator with the smaller round juice channels. Can someone recommend a vendor that they know they have the " latest and greatest" version?

The Cherry Vapes' Cloud Chaser is so tight i had a hard time getting it on the Kanger subtank mini, but it isn't too difficult to get on it now. It's tight enough to pick up my whole setup by just holding the drip-tip. It works well though.

I figured i could use the 1.2ohm coils for a while and see how it goes. I am vaping at 16w right now.

The Cherry Vapes' Cloud Chaser is so tight i had a hard time getting it on the Kanger subtank mini, but it isn't too difficult to get on it now. It's tight enough to pick up my whole setup by just holding the drip-tip. It works well though.

J just knock down the airflow a tad and you'll find the right density. It is a very airy tank, coil and drip tip but you can get incredible depth out of this thing. Lot of good posts here so far on how to get there.

I'd guess that most like the Sub Mini due to its 22mm size and the fact that it comes with the RBA section. The regular Sub tank is 25mm and the nand sub tank doesn't offer the Rba option.

To be clear, I am in no way advocating tensioned spaced twisted coils as the "do all-end all" for every device out there. I run them in all my RTAs for the exceptional flavor production, extended wick life and excellent temperature stability. And they fire very fast at 20-25w. Tensioned contact coils are still my preference for my RDAs due to the abundant airflow available to keep things cool and because of the ease of wick changes. I honestly haven't tried many twisted winds in my drippers and never spaced. That's coming though.

We each have to make our own decisions as to what works best...but that's just it...what works best...not what someone says will work best. I haven't seen one post with a link to proven physics or microscopic images supporting their claims of the science of vaping coils...it doesn't exist to my knowledge and I probably wouldn't understand it if it did...lol.....so I go on with trial and error methods and observations until I'm happy with my vape...hope you all will too!
