Yes,no, or maybe-
New 1.5 ohm vertical OCC in a Subtank mini, will this work on an ileaf istick mini 10 watt? I need something super small and light for work and the aerotank just isn't working anymore. If this combo will work I'll probably buy a nano when they release with the new vertical coils.
it depends what ur used to, if u normally vape at 10w u should be fine w/the 1.5ohm.

The airflow would have to be set for tootle puffing (mtl) at 10w. Maybe almost completely closed off afc would get the coil up to temp but for 10w I would probably use a protank, mini protank or aerotank. They're designed for the 7-10w range.

Well, I'm getting more volume with less effort but it tastes like its burnt, I can't imagine 5 volts/10 watts would give me this flavor. Might just have to drill the airflow on my aerotank and see if that helps.

Yeah your getting dry hits, not enough juice is pulling through onto the wick at higher wattage.

I dont know how well it would work on a Istick mini. You might want to consider trying it on a Vision Spinner II. I am vaping mine at 20 watts and for me it is perfect there. All my previous vaping was tootle puffing at no higher than 13 watts and usually at 10 watts but the Kanger likes 20 watts in my opinion. My IPV 4 is showing my kanger coil at .59 ohms using 3.4 volts for 20 watts. For a 1.5 ohm coil using the Spinner II max output of 4.8 volts would give you 14 watts.
Or get a Kayfun V4 or Lemo II/Drop. They like that wattage range. I put one of my Kayfuns on a spinner II and it admittedly vapes well.

Loving the Subtank Mini on my eGo One Mega! My 0.5 Ohm coils vape great over the entire output wattage (20-30W). And aesthetically, I think it's hard to beat :)

I just wrote a mini review on the Subox thread. I'll share it here.

"
Ordered mine on Monday from Kanger SUBOX Mini Starter Kit @ Mt Baker Vapor
free 15ml bottle of juice included, 10% off for code "ecf", free shipping over $50 (Priority this time)
Hawk Sauce or Banana hold up real well to 40W+
They also have OCC coils for a decent price w/discount (but they're OOS right now).

Got it today.
I've been using an Arctic tank on my SX mini M for a week, Subtank minis w/OCC before that.
The redesigned .5 OCC coil actually delivers good vapor and pretty good flavor up to 50W.
Excellent flavor with 60VG between 30W-40W
I haven't tried it at 60 powerful on the SXM yet.

Feels good/looks good/works good

I'll consider it $24 well spent if I get a few months use on the mod before the buttons go.
Use 20A continuous batteries and have fun.
Good going KangerTech :thumb:
"
The upgraded .5 OCC coil is a huge upgrade on the original .5 OCCs IMHO

I've seen a few people with this set up and I'm itching to buy that ego one mega battery. I loved tube mods. K have nothing but box/mini box mods now. Granted most fit well in the hand but there is something about a tube mod that I love!
