Want to see an example of a community where the mods have ABSOLUTE power and exercise it on a regular basis? Try the largest XBox community in the world at TeamXbox.com. I've seen them ban 50 members in less than an hour. I've watched them perma-ban members with 30,000 posts. I was there when 5,000 people were viewing ONE sub-forum and the mods were banning people at the rate of 10 per minute.
Want to know what that kind of moderation leads to?

The admins can't do it all, bro. Here or anywhere. That's why mods exist and that's why SJ gave his global mods the power to ban people (not all mods here can).
And remember, everyone...The mods don't MAKE the rules, they just enforce the ones set out by SmokeyJoe himself...Including the ones about people abusing the mod staff.

I agree that a forum with numbers like that needs to have mods with banning power. But, there is one HUGE difference between here and the Xbox forum though. I'm sure you can guess what it is. I don't know the exact number but I'll go out on a limb and say 95% of the members on Xbox forum are under the age of 16. They're all kids and the mods are probably all kids too. We're all adults here.
