so my kayfun lite plus is due to arrive anyway now.

I've been vaping 12mg in the Nautilis and mini at 12.5 watts on 1.6 and 1.8 coils, plenty of vapour.

Also 6mg in the subtank mini with 1.2 coil, again lots of vapour.

So I have a load of 12mg net arriving anytime as well, was planning to vape this in the kayfun.

My builds will be 1.2 - 2.0 ohms.

Is the 12mg going to be too much or is it roughly comparable with what I am currently vaping?

Same question for a snapdragon style and freakshow mini, will build at 1.2 - 2.0 again.

Don't mind reducing amount I vape a bit, in fact would like to, but not too much...

Got some pg I can cut juice with if necessary, it is orders with extra extract fortunately so might just take it back to normal flavour profile. Obviously prefer not to though.

On the Kayfun.....NA...Thats what I've been vaping in mine for the last 2 years.

Make sure the channels are clean and open, use 2.5-3mm coils because more cotton in a kayfun is better to avoid dry hits. The first time you set it up it'll take 40 minutes....Next time youll see your mistakes as you make them....third time 5 minutes. I run open coil for NETS as they dont junk up as fast.

Its a hard draw tank perfect for those of us that like to draw mouth to lung.

Crack the window in the car when driving.

Enjoy the new toy.

Whatever nic level you are used to is fine in a Kayfun. Kayfun does produce more vapor and more vapor means more nic in the vape, so you might want to drop it. I started at 24mg and as I transitioned downward the KF3 allowed me to drop to 18mg, then 12mg, and finally to 6mg. I just dropped my nic as I ordered new juice. I usually order 3 or 4 50ml bottles at a time and that lasts a month or more.

My last order was 4 50ml bottles, 2 of 6mg nic and 2 of zero nic. I plan to mix them to make 3mg and then go to zero by the first of the year.

At no time did I experience nic cravings as I transitioned. I've been at 6mg for a year or so. I'm about to go to zero nic for health insurance rates. Cotinine tests are getting to be the norm now and the rates go sky high if they catch you with nic in your system. Some companies make you pay the high rate retroactively if they catch you with nic in your system that isn't prescribed by a doctor. Go figure. You can take Nicorette or a medically prescribed nic, but can't vape ...

I've vaped zero nic for a day as a test and had no nic cravings or other effects. In fact, the lower the nic the more you taste the flavors in your juices, IMO.

Shouldn't be a problem, on the nic level. You didn't mention your PG/VG level; when I first got a kayfun, I had been madly chasing TH with tiny kangers (T3S, Mini PT II); with the kayfun, I had to briefly decrease my PG level, the TH was so good. Once I got used to it, I went back to my accustomed 85% PG, but it took a week or two.

Built my first set up. Prebuilt coil. Number one too loose on the wick. Number two too tight. Number three too much again.

Getting less vapour than with the nautilus at 12.5 watts. Bit less flavour as well. Big throat hit.

Also managed to mess the coil up a bit whilst wicking and positioning etc.

Not bad for a first go at least I can vape it!

Going to dump current wick and coil later and rebuildbable with another prebuilt coil and fingers crossed the right amount of cotton.

Learnt a lot. Gentle in the coil whe shaping. Get right mount of wick.

Confident now that 12mg will be fun, can just take the watts down a tad if too much vapour, as said it is a mtl tank.

Thanks all. Ps have watched numerous you tube videos so around the build, just need to get the right thickness of wick and not mess the coil up!

Pretty much all are 50/50. One in juice drawer is either 70 or 80 vg...Hedons bite from Njoy collection.

P.S.

JUST TO SEE IF IT COULD BE DONE.....I have rewicked my KLV2 sitting in Atlanta rush hour traffic......

Its that easy.

Impressive but yes, with practice and experience I believe this is possible, for now I may not try this as I would od from all the juice spilt over my hands

This is interesting...open coil for nets...good point. Only seen videos in micro coils...tell me with open coil do the wraps need to be evenly spaced and if so how accurate?

Would I be right in assuming with open coil that less wraps are required to reach a given resistance?

Dunno if you've seen this tip -- I use a drillbit to wrap my coils, and I've had some problems with deforming the coil too, while getting it mounted -- I leave the drillbit in place in the coil until I get the feisty thing screwed down. :D Since you're using pre-builts, try to find something of similar diameter to the inside of the coil -- nail, drillbit, tiny bluedriver, etc -- so it has a form to remind it what shape it's supposed to be, while you're getting the ends fastened. :thumb:

No, the number of wraps will always be the same to reach a given resistance; what could change the resistance is changing the inner diameter of the coil. Spaced coils just let the whole thing "breathe" better; don't concentrate the heat so much, and don't let the gunk concentrate in one area so quickly. I've always used those, because I don't like a hot vape, or too much vapor, and I also use an extremely gunk-prone juice.

ETA: it should be fairly even in its spacing, but you don't need a micrometer or anything -- what I do, once its mounted and I give it a pulse -- I do go ahead and compress it, but I wait a second or two after the glow dies, so it doesn't stick together so much -- that will bring the wraps closer, but they won't tend to stay tightly together -- it helps a lot with getting an even spacing.

For the limited airflow its a real fog machine.

The OP can keep vaping where he is. Is he dives down to sub ohm he will definitely need to lower his nic.

Thanks, I have a decent coil jig for when the time comes to wrap my own, first few attempts have been wonky to say the least!

indeed, already drop down to 3mg if I am using the sub-ohm coils in the subtank nano, 6mg if using 1.2 coils in said tank.

Some builders build their spaced coils by wrapping around a metal screw for perfeo spaced coils.

I did that at first, but I later found it wasn't really necessary -- maybe just because I got better at the initial wrap being more uniform; at first I was afraid I would overlap the wraps, so I tended to wrap them too far apart. I've found that doing the same procedure as a compressed coil, but giving it a second or two after the glow dies after pulsing, before compressing it, also gives very uniform spacing.
