Kent, just saw your post. I watched a RipTripper youtube vid where he built a chimney coil for the KFL, looked pretty cool. May have to try it on my next build.
I converted all my Kayfuns to this. It takes more cotton, but it really kicks up the flavor another notch. BAM! I differ from RiP Trippers' method just a little. I use a 1.6mm inner diameter for the micro coil, and I do NOT lift the coil to create a gap above the air hole. I press it down against the air hole. I do use the wicking method he demonstrates.
In this video, he creates two coils. The first is a horizontal with cotton through the coil and the second is the chimney coil. He starts with the chimney about 14:52, so let's see if I can link it that way...
