Heads up on the NET juices, I recently purchased a number of their flavors after hearing good things from a fellow member at another forum...he did warn me about accelerated fouling of coils and wicking material, I couldn't get thru one full tank with any of the 5 flavors I tried before that all started to taste burnt and pretty horrible.

This is generally true. Most NETs will trash your coils in a quick hurry. There are exceptions though (as with most HHV NETs). It is also true there are some non-tobacco e-liquids also capable of trashing coils quickly. I use drippers for the gunkers...easy to clean and small capacities so I don't have to wait till the end of a tank.

I was wondering will 2.5 mm throw the equation off or would it qualify as part of a different starting point?

Ever since I bought my first KFL plus V2 I have used a 2.4mm mini screwdriver 28awg Kanthal 8 wraps for 1.5 ohms now that I have 3 and a V4 thats all I use and they work great. Never even been tempted to change. The jury is still out whether I like KGD or Rayon better. So far I really kinda like Rayon but I am giving the KGD a chance since I have 60 pads. The only thing that I am going to try is NI200 when my Vapor shark gets here. That combo has worked so well for me I just stay with it.

I will say I am so glad I was on top of it when the V4 came out. I am on the V4 clone thread and it seems like about 1 out 10 people have no trouble. I guess they are having a real problem cloning them and I say way to go SvoeMesto. I love mine more than my KFL's. Never had a problem. I'd be so ...... all the time trying to make a fake work. I am not real good in the patience dept or trying to make something work that just isn't right if you get my meaning. You know come to think of it my KFL's I bought 4 repair kits for and never even had to change an Oring. My only real gripe with them is they didn't make the chimney about 3mm longer.

Forgot to mention, I will be running it on an innokin itaste mvp 2 for the mean time.

I might upgrade after the whole dna 40 chip n' coil is figured out and or provari comes out with temp control and a box mod, but that is a different subject.

I would recommend just staying with what you have or another non temp control device for the immediate future. In my humble (or not so humble) opinion, temp control has a ways to go before it's really ready for the masses. Lots of folks beating their heads against the wall trying to get it right, especially with the Kayfun type devices. Learn the "old ways" first and you will be better prepared to tackle the new and by the time you have mastered coiling and all the associated stuff they might have ironed out some of the issues with temp control. I have Ni200 wire and a DNA40 board in standby to try but am not in a real hurry to implement it yet.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Part of my curiosity is that will higher wattage/volts burn your juice into an unhealthy medium, will it just wear your wick faster, and or is it unhealthy period. I just want to make my transition for the better. So I have no clue as far as how high I want to go. Now having said that, I am learning that I like a warm throat hitting vape that resembles more of a cigarette. I apologize for the long explaining but I am so new that I need the best advice to hopefully get the kayfun running to meet my goal thanks again.

I am vaping what sounds like your basic setup now. 28ga kanthal coil in a 2.5mm (approx) drill bit, 8 coils at 1.5 ohm and using around 14 watts.

Ah, another rayon devotee (hi brother) with a lifetime supply. I have been building coils off the same 10 feet somebody sent me for the last six months and have hardly put a dent in it.

Will also try! I know that this is a kayfun thread, but is there a big difference between my mod per se mvp 2 vs, provari or dna in the effectiveness of the kayfun?

My best answer is watts are watts no matter what device they come from. I will say that the cheaper devices (VAMO, etc.) use pulse width modulation to control the voltage applied and the better (higher priced) mods use dc current. I find the DC current mods provide a smoother vape.

MKID. If you are happy with the draw (air flow) of your KFv2,in that it is not too tight or loose, your current battery mod is fine for now. As dusty said, most folks are happy with 10-15 watts on a KF.

I would concentrate on your build techniques and finding one or two juices that you really like.

I saw you don't care for sweet vapes and want something that resembles the Reds. I never found a good replacement for cig flavor but I sure have found excellent pipe and cigar vapes that taste spot on because they are NETs (naturally extracted tobacco ).

If you are making you own juice (a whole nother discussion) Vaping Zone has a concentrated flavor called "Real Cig" that's as close to a Boro red or light that I have found. I use it as my daily vape. 3% in a 70/30 pg/vg base with 12 to 18% nic should do you great. Might want to increase the NIC a little is you smoked more than a pack a day. Careful with the NIC levels on the Kayfun though, the better the device is at making vapor the more nic it delivers. If you find yourself getting dizzy and such, might want to drop the nic levels a bit.

Hey tha looks just like my box. Hey MKID the MVP is a great little device and it doesn't use the 33.3 chip. I've had mine for probably a year and a half and works great with a KF I vape a little cooler then Matt does about 10.5-11w is my sweet spot. I think that is as high as the MVP goes. But like I say it is a great little device and the battery will last for 2 days

I tend to think this is good advice. The DNA40's should be left to the veterans, Evolv and the atty makers for now to iron out the wrinkles.

More good advice. Just to add, the iStick also uses PWM. And further clarification, you're speaking of low frequency PWM. Provari uses PWM but it is at a high frequency and essentially runs like DC..
